After James calmed down, we asked him to wait outside Monte's office. We talked about what we were going to do.

"Monte, I cannot foster another child," I said clearly, "that boy needs to know what love is, but Lena and I cannot take him in."

"What if you did like you did with AJ?" She asked me. I could tell she had an idea forming in her brain.

"What do you mean?"

"What if you fostered him for just a little bit... Until... Until I could get my foster license?"

"You want to foster him?" I asked confused. I could not believe what I was hearing. "With all due respect, Monte, I'm not sure that would go over well with what you were accused of not too long ago."

"What, kissing Sally? She kissed me and the board believed my side of the story. The true side, Stef. I have never been romantically involved in a student, nor would I ever. Stef, what I see in that boy is someone who is afraid. Yes, he needs to be shown love. I want to help him, Stef. He's a very special young boy. Also, Rebecca would absolutely adore him..." She trailed off as realization that she said the name hit her. The red crept out on her cheeks and she looked down. "Whoops..." She muttered.

I busted out laughing. I couldn't help it. It was just too funny how flustered she got when she accidentally said 'Rebecca'.

"What are you laughing at?" She said defensively.

"How embarrassed you look just by saying the name 'Rebecca'," I said the name with the mock in love voice, "you do know that I'm a lesbian, right? I mean you should... You kissed my wife."

"Stef-" she began flustered and even more embarrassed.

"I'm kidding, Monte. But who is the mysterious Rebecca?"

"Uhm... Rebecca Gilbert..." She said shyly.

"Ohhhhh. Really?," She nodded at this, "hmm... I didn't know she was gay..."

"You know her?!" Monte asked taken aback.

"Uh, yeah. She's only one of the most known people around here. I also work with her... Did you forget I was a cop too?"

"Oh... Right... Sorry." She chuckled at her forgetfulness while I rolled my eyes.

"Alright. I will talk to Lena about fostering him for a while. And if she says no, I will talk to Mike about it. I will do my best to get him out of the home he's in now so we can help him as much as we can."

"Thank you, Stef." She said with a smile.

"Now let's get him back in here and tell him our plan."

"Ok."

I opened the door and told James to come in. We then explained to him what we were going to do. He seemed so happy to hear that Monte wanted to take him in. He had one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen after he heard that. So did she.

I was glad to be helping this child.

School starts back tomorrow, so I will try my best to update more often than I have been. Again, I'm sorry. I hope you enjoyed this chapter though.
