The sound of tapping rises to my ears. Each foot, stepping forwards and hitting the ground, transporting my body down the block. The cold November air on my skin as I traveled. Ears rosy from the chill, brain freeze forming without the cold drink. Tree leaves on the ground from the previous month of October.

My head hung low in thought. The red and yellow leaves are blown up and off the ground in a new spot on the ground where it lays back down in peace. Sometimes I wish I was a leaf. Just blowing in the breeze. I only have two jobs. To feed the animals and to fall off when its time, after changing the colour.

Fairly easy. Changing colour and falling off, the occasional munch by a caterpillar. The simpleness of the job amuses me. I know that no one has it easy, and I'm not the only one with problems. But sometimes it feels that way. It feels like I have no one.

The tops of my feet on the ground are doubles and I'm taken away from my lonely thoughts. I'm not alone, my mind concludes. My head shoots up from its position and I see him. The boy who helped me. The boy whose hair pulls me into a trance the way it falls perfectly on his perfect little head. It was almost unrealistic.

"Hey!" The voice came from a boy. The boy. It was him. He snapped me out of my previous thoughts. I shook my head back and forth from left to right, bringing myself back to reality.

I manage to mumble out a confused sound and looked back up with wondering eyes.

"I... I wanted to talk to you." He pauses as he comes closer to me. He was now in the middle of the road making his way closer to me. No cars were passing, due to the lack of knowledge that this was a real road. It was like one of those places you discover with your friends. Not somewhere that many people knew about.

"Y-....a?" I struggle to form a simple sentence.

"Are you okay?" He asks quite bluntly. If you ask me, I didn't know what to say.

Am I? Am I okay? No. I am not okay.

I'm broken. I always will be.

"Yes." I lie.

"You're lying to me..." His eyes squinted, as if he was looking through me at something in the distance.

My eyes lower knowing I was caught in my little fib. "Does that happen often?" He questions. My head follows my eyes and it falls down to face the ground.

"You don't have to answer that... Just know I'm here for-" He doesn't have time to finish before I'm running down the road towards the school like I had once been doing little time ago.

I felt bad for running off, but I didn't know what else to do. He shouldn't even have stopped. Olivia from her devil needs and now he was trying to be nice to me and be a friend. No thank you. One thing I learned in school. Trust no one. Everyone can destroy you.

"Hey loser! Get over here you little bitch, I have to talk to you!" I stop, frozen in place when I hear her voice. Slowly and elegantly, I turn around, Olivia's face is drawn so perfect in my brain it hurts to see her. I wish I had her looks. She was perfect. Everything you could ever dream of having.

Don't think like that, Anna! She's evil!

She has broken me to the point of no return.

As she approaches the ground in front of me, she glares at me with the most horrendous smirk I've ever seen. She raises her hand. Deja vu, I think. It was a replay of yesterday. But he wasn't here this time.

Stop thinking that way! My thoughts yell at me in an ear-piercing way. I need to stop getting my hopes up. I thought I already agreed that no one ever cares, I should know better.

I guess I just wanted to finally be saved from all of this. Saved from life. Saved from myself.

Next thing I knew I was flung backwards on my butt and my face stung from the impact of Olivia's hand on my cheek.

"STOP!" I hear. I recognized that voice. Although I hadn't known him long, his voice was unique, you had to be crazy to forget a voice like his.

I couldn't believe my eyes.
