“Oh my gosh! I totally call dibs on the master bedroom!” I shrieked piercingly, charging into the biggest and only room on the second floor.

Immediately, I received groans and shouts of protest, to which I tuned out.

“Al! That’s my room!” I heard Seth yelling irritably at me. “It used to, and will always be!”

I ignored him. “Ahhhhhh! The toilet’s soooooo big!” I squealed, my eyes growing wider with excitement.

“Apparently, it’s not your room anymore.” Cole’s voice drifted into my ears, a hint of sarcasm in it. I could imagine Seth cursing under his breath at Cole’s tease.

I chuckled and peeked my head out of the room, pushing my bottom lip out into a full pout. “Can I have this room, puh-leaseeee?”

The sides of Seth’s lips were turned upside down. “Get out.” He said, a note of finality in his voice.

I gulped but still kept my brave front. I shook my head indignantly. “Nuh-uh. The room’s mine.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes!”

“No!” His growing impatient was evident in his voice now.

“No?” I questioned, raising my eyebrows at him innocently.

“Yes.” He nodded, folding his arms.

I smacked my lips together contentedly. “Thanks for giving the room to me!” I yelled out, while slamming the door before he could barge in and object.

“Hey!” He cried out in protest. “You tricked me!”

I stuck out my tongue childishly, before realizing he couldn’t see it. “Too bad!” I teased, doing little jiggles of joy.

We had just moved into Seth’s new—actually, old, in terms of how long it had been standing on the surface of the earth—apartment. Cole had moved in with us as well, apparently. So, after my teary goodbye with Matt (he was the one doing the crying),  we shifted into this somewhat small yet cozy flat which had three rooms, including a kitchen, a living room and a balcony which had a really pretty view of the amusement park I used to frequent when I was still in high school.

That place really brought a lot of memories back to me. The time where I had tried to match make Cole and Isabella together—not to mention failed miserably and in fact backfired against me; the time where I almost peed in my pants in the haunted house, and then swore never to go back inside again; the day when Jeremy broke up with me, and yes, the last but most memorable and unforgettable moment—the first time when Cole’s lips and mine met, and we won the competition.

Heat crept up my cheeks as the memories whizzed past my head.

“What are you looking at?” A soft familiar voice asked from behind me, breaking me from my thoughts and bringing me back to reality.

I spun my head around and met Cole’s gaze. I immediately lowered my gaze, still shy from the memory. I blinked and looked away, resting my elbow on the railing and cupping my right cheek with my hand.

“The Ferris Wheel is beautiful at night, isn’t it?” I sighed, a serene feeling washing over me in waves.

Cole walked up and stood close beside me, in fact, a little too close—to the point where our shoulders were brushing against each other. I pretended not to take notice and cleared my throat uncomfortably.
