It had been almost four months since I had seen Mark.  I had gotten over him. A couple weeks after he had called it quits and vanished from the face of the earth I had met myself a new man. A man I could trust and was definitely a keeper. His name was Drake Wright. He was tall, had dark Brown hair that was whooshed up, and had gorgeous green eyes. He was a year older than me and enjoyed a lot of the same things I did. He, like me, was also an English teacher. He taught 9th grade though while I taught 12th. He also happens to be the football coach, which explains why he was in such good shape. How I managed to land him still surprises me.

We had been going out for about three and a half months now. I was enjoying every moment of it. In fact we were engaged. I know shocker. So soon? Well we had actually known each other in high school and lost touch in college but met again at a party Sofia has been invited to. Ever since that day we had hit it off. We've only actually been engaged for two days which explains why I'm still on cloud nine.

Today was the first day of school. I had actually been back to work for about three weeks now but school actually hadn't started yet for the students, until today.

I was excited for this day because it was my first day as an official teacher. It made me happy seeing my classroom all decorated the way I wanted it.

I heard a knock at the door and went over to open it. It was Drake. I greeted him with a smile and we exchanged a quick kiss on the lips.

"I just wanted to wish you good luck on today." he said, smiling.

"Well same to you. I can't wait. How do you feel?" I asked, rubbing his shoulder.

"Pretty good. I would ask you to but by the looks of it I see you feel the same way." he said grinning. Oh how his smile could melt a person’s heart.

"Well good luck." I say as the first bell rings.

“Same to you and by the way,” he says leaning in to whisper in my ear “you’re looking pretty sexy today. I can't wait to see you later tonight." he tells me. I blush and he quickly kisses my check and leaves as some students begin to come in.

I stand towards the front of the class and greet them all, Trying to learn all their names. Eventually they all file in and all eyes on me. Oh this day was going to be fun.

 .................... .... ..................... . . . . . . . . . .

It was lunch time now and I was in Drakes room. We had been having lunch together every day since we started back at work and decided to keep the tradition going.  We had been having so much fun at lunch that I had forgotten that class was starting soon.

I heard the bell ring and told Drake goodbye and of course gave him a peck on the lips as I leave.  I run in a hurry down the hall to my class, but by the time I got to the other side of building the last bell had already rung, which meant I was late to my own class. I hurried in and asked them to excuse me for my tardiness.

Still smiling, I went over to the board and erase everything from this morning's classes and quickly started on today's first assignment. It was getting to know everyone. It was an easy thing to do you know, just have everyone Stand and say their name and then they would say three facts about them, followed by one with lie.  Since I was the teacher I went first, so I wrote 3 on the bored and I asked the class to tell me which one was the lie.

They all sat still for a moment and eventually someone raises their hand. Someone in the back. Someone who looked very familiar. I couldn't quite place it yet but I knew them. Then a bunch of other people raises their hand and a girl in the front with long blonde hair just blurts out before I can call on someone.

"Well, obviously you're engaged I can tell by the ring on your finger which is beautiful. I wish I can get one like that one day. Second, I really doubt that you're 35 you look way too young to be older than 30.  Probably in your very early twenties. So obviously that makes that the lie and of course the leaves the other truth, that you're the only girl in your family. So I guess that leaves me to go next. Right?" she asked.  Well I can tell I already was beginning to have a class pet.

"Yes your right. I am indeed not 35. I am actually not even 25. I am not saying but I am younger than that. Yes it is true I am engaged but haven't been for very long." I say holding out my hand towards the class so they can see my beautiful ring. All the girls say "awe" which makes me feel very happy. “I also have two older brothers." I say and begin to hear some chuckling in the back.

I look and gasp as I finally realize who it is. No. No. No. He can't be in my class. He can't. He had to be at least 20. So why is he in my class? We had slept together. I had had relations with a student. It couldn’t be.

"Eh ehm" I hear and look at the girl. “Can I go now." she asks.

"Sorry, yes yes of course. Sorry I was just thinking about tomorrows quiz over the book you guys should have read this summer." I say. The whole class groans and I suppress a laugh. They all stare confused. "Just kidding!" I say throwing my hands in the air. "Carry on darling" I say.

She begins to talk and I walk over to sit at my desk. I don't think I could have stood for very much longer. I stare at him and try to spot why I hadn't noticed him earlier. He looked different.  Maybe more tan. No I see it; he had blue eyes now with blonde hair. Oh yes, who could forget those always changing eyes? Though the blonde hair did not suite him well at all.

I'm pulled from my train of thought when I hear my name being called.

"Miss. Carter!?" she says.

"Yes sweetie?” I ask.

"I said, which one you think is the lie?" she says putting her hand on her hip.

"Hmmm.... maybe... the...the first one." I guess.

"Wow your good. How did you know I didn't have a 3.0 GPA?" she asks.

I look at her surprised. “Well you seem smart enough to have at least a 3.5" I say.

She smiles. “I think you’re my new favorite teacher."

“Well thanks I appreciate that." I say, smiling. “So who's next?" I ask.

"Well I guess I'll go ahead and get this out of the way.” Mark says, standing.

"Ok well go right ahead." I say, trying to keep my voice steady as I talk. What a way to see him again.

"Ok well, I have never dated someone older than me, I'm an uncle, and I have a younger brother." he says, smiling at me. "What do you think Eve...Miss. Carter?"

The whole class stares at me.
