Drake pushes me in and kisses me as the door closes behind him.

I look towards Mark as I push Drake back.

"Sorry, didn't know you had a student in here" he says letting me go. "Mark what you did this time. You couldn't even wait a week until school was in." Drake turns around looking at me. "Let me guess talking back?" he asks

"Something like that. I gave him a detention for today after school." I say eyeing Mark.

"Well I guess that changes our plans.  Turns out you’re the detention teacher for today. Mrs. Smith is out; she had her baby a month early and won't be back till January. You’re the new 12th grade detention teacher. It’s alright; I had that duty last year. They always seem to put the new teachers in charge of that." he says.

"Ugh, really why didn't anyone tell me?" I argue. I lean against my desk. Great now I had to spend two and half hours after school with this nut.

"Or you could unassign me detention for today." Mark says bluntly.

"Can it Mark. You'll be sorry you got in trouble when football practice starts Wednesday. That’s double the laps for you." Drake says.

"Ugh, but coach 10 laps is easy." Mark says smiling.

"Make that 15. Talk again ill makes it 20 and another detention. “Drake says. I already knew what was going to happen next.

"Make it 25 coaches I need to get back in shape.” Mark says flexing his huge biceps.

"30 now not another word or I will get your parents down here." Drake threatened.

"I'm not afraid of them. Go ahead call them." Mark retaliated.

"That’s four detentions want to make that five?"

I don't think I could handle one detention not to mention five. I needed to stop this before it got any further and made me spend more time with this kid.

"Ok guys let’s just stop this now. Mr. Wright I need to write Mark a pass to his next class so he won't be counted late." I say, going over to my desk grabbing a hall pass. I write one and give it to Mark.  “Now go before you get in more trouble Mark. I expected better behavior than that." I tell him as he leaves.

"I already warned you, I’m a terrible student and this is only the beginning." he says leaving. I close the door behind him.

"Why did you give him more detentions?" I ask Drake, putting my head on his shoulder. He rubbed my back.

"Sorry I forgot you were the detention teacher. Didn't you check your email they sent you?" he asked

"No I can't figure out the new system they got last Friday.” I say pointing at the computer.

"Sorry I guess I’ll only have our lunch dates to look forward to until Saturday. I'll help you figure out the new system after school" he says.

"Why Saturday?” I ask, I couldn't go that long without seeing him outside of school. We needed alone time.

"Starting Wednesday I'm here till about 6:30 coaching football, then I got to get home and grade stuff.” he says. "Sorry but it looks like I got to leave. I'm supposed to be in some meeting about the athletics budget." he tells me.

“Alright I guess I’ll see you tomorrow at lunch." I say kissing him.  We kiss for about a minute more before he finally backs up.

"Sorry babe but I'm late. I'll text you if I can." he replies, leaving.

I was not looking forward to this week at all anymore. Now I had to babysit Mark for the rest of the week after school.

My great first day had just turned into a terrible week. Why did it feel like I was the one actually being put in detention?
