I fumbled to find my keys in my purse except, I couldn't find them. Then to top it all off, I have a raging beast of a brother hovering over my back. I literally think he was growling now at how angry he was.
"I can't find my keys in this black hole I call a purse." I say giving up.
"Well, I bet I could still get us in." Casper says, standing up straight walking to the door. He thinks about what he's going to do for a moment then looks at Dean and me, smiling.
He takes out his wallet and gets out a credit card. He shows us then continues grinning g as he jingles the lock.
"Tada! See, that's how you do it. You don’t have to do it Dean’s way every time, which is kicking in the door." He tells us.
"Yeah well, my way is a lot more fun. Eve, didn't you have a key outside?" he asked.
We walk on in and I notice all my furniture is tipped over and everything has been rummaged through. What happened in here? Whoever was in here was really determined to find it. They probably got in from my hidden key. I really need to find a great place to hide it to avoid things like this from happening again.
"I bet it was Liam!" Dean says, slamming the door behind us.
"Oh! I know what it is they wanted." Casper says, running to my room. Dean and I follow.
My mattress had been flipped, all my dresser drawers were open and my clothes were hanging out. This room was a mess.
Casper walks to the wall that is shared with the guest bedroom wall. He taps the wall in three different spots and a hidden storage area is unlocked. Inside is a small box.
"Yes, they didn't get it." Dean says. I look at both of them utterly confused.
I look at the box. It is small in size and fits in the palm of Casper’s hands; then again he did have huge hands. You know what they say about guys with huge hands, they wear big gloves. But you thought I was going to say something perverted you nasty.
Anyways back to the box. It was a black box with these weird engraving on each side. 《¤》《¥》《|||》 Three of the sides had those engravings while the other one had a key hole in it. It looked like it was glowing from the inside, too.
"What is it? Why is it in my wall? How come I never knew about this? When did you guys build a secret passage in my house?" I ask. So many questions were buzzing through my head right now. How come I was always the last one to find out about things? Was I that naive?
"It’s called a Dream Night box. There’s only four in this whole universe. Two are guarded by Angels in Heaven. One is at our secret place, I can't say. Then there's this one. It’s a force shield that is big enough to make an invisible bubble around your house that will literally protect you from anything. Of course the ones in heaven are much bigger. When you had to wait a week for inspectors to come check out your house,"
They pull out their wallet which shows about six different badges. The badges ranged from police to FBI to teacher to electrician and two other ones I didn't recognize.
"It was us and a team of hunters installing and safety proofing your house. We decided to put one in your house, to keep you safe from anything that could endanger you. If one is pressed and released then all of them are triggered. It will protect you from anything. That’s why we didn’t even tell you.” Casper says. He puts it back and pounds on the wall four times and the box is safely hidden again.
"Why would you have one in my house though? Shouldn't it of protected me from that thief?" I am being filled to the brink with information I never even knew about until a couple of days ago.
