SATURDAY MORNING
I awake to a rather bright light and turn over to shield my eyes from it. I look over at my nightstand and see my phone flashing. I pick it up and flip the phone open to listen to the voice mails. [Think back to the time of old phones, as in flip phones and no one really texts just yet.]
"Hey, Eve, its Samantha. I thought that since Benji dumped you I could hook you up with my boyfriend’s hot friend Mark. He just moved here and needs some new friends to show him around and I thought no one better then you! I told him your name was Everett and he totally thought you were a dude. So I may have led on that you are but just wait till he meets you. Dress up nice and show him a great time. Love you lots, your friend Sami"
If you would like to replay press seven. If you would like to delete the message press nine. If you would like more options press one, if you....
I close that screen and press the next voicemail.
"Hey, Everett, it’s Mark. Uhmm this is weird calling a guy but my friend’s girlfriend said you'd be great to show me around town, have a good time. I've got some fake licenses so I was thinking we could go clubbing and pick up some hot chicks after. Give me a ring if you’re up to it. Bye"
I look at the phone and giggle. Wow was I really about to go on a 'date' with a dude who I’ve never even met before? I mean if he's got fake licenses, then why not have some fun. I look him up on this new thing called Facebook, I only signed up because it seemed less creepier then Myspace to be honest.
I look him up and there he was. I found his email and emailed him about meeting at the pizzeria around 5 then hitting the club after. I jumped up with excitement giddy as to what he would say. This was going to be so much fun.
I Run to my bathroom and wash my face and brush my teeth then go down stairs to have breakfast. I smell the smell of amazing cinnamon rolls, but not just any Cinnamon rolls my mom’s handmade ones. If you know my mom she is all about homemade, not precooked already made foods, she did everything from scratch.
"Hey mom, where's the boys?" I say walking into the kitchen. She smiles and hands me a plate of rolls.
"Uhmm probably about to come down any minute. Did you finish that English assignment that was due?" she asks, walking towards the dining area and putting a hand on her hip.
"Nah I was done with those ages ago. Do you know anyone who has a date tonight?" I say grinning.
My mom looks at me nodding her head. She walks over to me and places a hand on each of my shoulders and whispers in my ear.
"Just please remember to use a condom. I’m much too young and fabulous to have any grandchildren at the moment." she says.
I hit her shoulder lightly and sigh.
"Ugh mom, you know I'm not like that. You should be talking to Casper and Deacon about that. They are the ones always bringing home girls and sneaking them out. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they've knocked one up already, huh grandma." I tell her.
"Stop that non sense. I look young enough to be your sister." she says to me.
Then the room starts shaking as my giant brother’s stomp down the stairs ready to eat. They each kiss my mom then sit on either side of me grinning.
"Whahh"I say with a mouthful of food. I swallow and they lean in close.
"Oh nothing much. Ohhh Mark, I love him so much.” They mock at me.
I stand up and almost fall over. I hit both of them in the back of the head.
"Stupid’s what did you do?" I yell.
