It was now 3:45 and it’s been 45 minutes since he should have been here. He was running just a little late.  Hopefully he wouldn't show up and I could be without him until tomorrow.

Since I wasn't expecting him to show I decided to go make copies in the front office.

I went in the room behind the front desk when I heard two people talking. I eased drop and immediately knew it was Mark.

He had his backpack hanging over his one shoulder and was starting to get angry by what could tell.

"I just want to switch out of English 4. Can't you put me in creative writing or journalism? I know that those classes can be taken in place of English 4." he tells the lady.

"I'm sorry Mark, but those classes are already filled." she says.

"What if you put me in advanced placement classes? I can handle that." he replied.

"I'm sorry but those classes require testing and that was to be done last year. I'm sorry Mark but you are stuck in English 4." she retorted.

"Fine. Thanks for nothing. “He said leaving.

Then me having to be a cluts turns around knocking down a pile of dictionaries. I quickly hide trying to not let him see me.

"Son can you go help Miss.Carter?  I have to leave to go to a meeting. Could you please help?"

"Why would I..... Fine run along I’ll help her."

Curse that witch. She must hate me doesn't she? I bet she's the one who assigned me detention duty.

"Well, well what a sly cat you are." he says, leaning against the door frame.

"I-I was just making copies and I..."

"Shhhhh. I know you we're ease dropping you can drop the act. “He says, putting his back pack on the floor and starts to help me clean up my mess.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to it’s just..."

"It’s fine. It’s not like we both didn't want me in that class, together. I tried so at least I can't say I didn't. “He says.

"I don't mind having you my class Mark." I say, lying to try to ease the situation.

"Yeah and I don't mind doing homework." he said laughing. "Now were both lying." he says, putting the last book back on the pile.

"Thanks." I say, beginning to print out my copies.

I hear the door close and I presumed he's left. Thank goodness, I don't know what I would have done with him another five minutes.

I feel two arms wrap around me and I jump.

"Hey! Let go." I manage to say.

"Just one kiss. I want to know something" he says.

"No Mark. We are going to get caught. I refuse to do that." I say, him tightening his grip on me.

"Eve, no ones even here, they all left. Look I watched her leave out the front entrance; tell me what meeting is there? It’s only us two here at school still." he says pulling me close.

"No Mark.  I'm engaged. How many times do I have to tell you that? Look, I love Drake and I'm not going to cheat on him, especially with some student I barely know. “I say, but immediately regret saying that last part.

He loosens his grip on me and I feel him take a step back. He lets go of me and I hear some shuffling behind me. I turn around coming face to face with him. I close my eyes.
