"Stop it Gary! Stop!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

I ignored her and continued what I was doing there was no way she was getting out of my grasp this time.

"Gary?" A voice said from behind.

I straighten up and stopped tickling my ten year old sister, Amanda. She gasped for air and then slapped my arm.

"Gary! I said to stop." I stuck my tongue out at her before turning to the Luna. Amanda waved to the Luna before slipping out the kitchen.

Luna Erica look beautiful as ever. Her long brown hair, heart shaped face and big eyes was the reason Alerick, her mate and the Alpha King, fell at his knees whenever she delivered a command.

That and she was seven months pregnant with his child so she made that very clear to him.

After destroying the Rogue pack several years ago, everyone kind of feared the Luna. While going to school to study being a teacher, she personally trained with Alerick everyday. I was the only one in the castle, other than Alerick, Kent, the Beta, and the children of the castle that treated her like she wasn't a god. I think that's why she always hung around me.

"Luna. Nice to see you here. Came to confess your undying love for me?"

"Ha. You wish. Alerick has told me to come get you for some super secret meeting that I'm not allowed to attend."

"Why not?" I asked confused. Alerick always involved Erica in every thing he did and every decision he made. That's what made them an amazing King and Queen.

"I don't know." She looked down at her stomach and glided her hand over it. "He just said it's not good for the baby."

"Gary!" I heard Kent voice in my head. "We're waiting for you in the conference room."

"On my way." I said through the mind link.

"Well I should be going Luna. Don't miss me too much."

She laughed again before responding. "I'll try not to. Later Gary."

I quickly ran over to Alerick's private castle and to the conference room. Whatever this was, it was serious if they were scared of giving stress to the Luna. Hopefully not another war.

I opened the door and saw Alerick, Kent, Rochelle, Kent's mate, and Dr. Powell, the head doctor of the castle and his assistant, the beautiful Dr. Empress sitting around the table. But no warrior wolves.

That I was happy about. No warrior wolves meant no war.

"I'm sorry but we couldn't wait for you Gary. Alerick was growing impatient." Dr. Powell explained looking at the manilla folder on the desk.

"What's going on?" I was barely ever serious but I could tell right now they meant business. Everyone in this room meant business.

"Gary theres an epidemic. A disease going around hurting werewolves."

I scoffed at the idea and took a seat. We dealt with an illness before that only harmed werewolves and we got through it. We solved the problem and I had no doubt in my mind we would solve this one too.

"So what's the big deal?" I asked. "We went over this already. Piece of cake."

"I don't think you fully understand Gary." Kent spoke up. "That disease, Mange, affected mostly the outside of our bodies."

"And with these bastard rogues walking around I'm not surprised my Kingdom caught fleas." Alerick interrupted.

"Since it WAS just mites, our bodies could of easily fought it off." Kent continued.

"So let me guess. This disease destroys our insides? What is it?"

"Distemper." Someone said. I didn't catch who but I'm sure it was Dr. Empress.

"Distemper? Are you freaking kidding me? Isn't that an infection for dogs. We're wolves."

"Actually Distemper affects dogs, wolves, foxes, skunks, raccoons and many more species." Dr. Powell said in a "matter of fact" tone. "Either way, dogs are very close in family to wolves so it's not completely impossible for us to recieve the infection."

I looked at Dr. Powell very irritated because I was still waiting on the good news that he found a cure.

"So what's the treatment?" I asked since no one was telling me.

"Gary, there is none." Rochelle said in a calm voice. Since Rochelle was a Beta, it was rare to see her not speaking confidently. "Wolves are dying from the illness."

"Especially the younger wolves because their bodies are not strong enough yet to atleast attempt to fight off the disease." Dr. Empress spoke up loud and clear this time.

I fell a strain on my heart at the thought of Amanda and my twelve year old brother, Thomas, catching this disease. I swallowed hard and tried to breathe.

"What's the plan then?"

"Even though there's no treatment, there is a prevention. A vaccination." Alerick spoke up laying out the plan for me. "Tomorrow everyone in the Kingdom will be vaccinated, children first of course. Then Dr. Powell will be leading a group of top doctors around the Kingdom to find a cure and treatment. Dr. Empress will be doing research with another group of doctors to find out what started this disease in the first place so we can destroy the source. They will be working hand in hand."

Everyone nodded at the instructions that was delivered so far.

"The rest of us will be going around the Kindgom to provide vaccinations to packs that need it." Alerick continued. "Everyone understands?"

We all nodded our heads in agreement to everything the Alpha just said.

"Dr. Powell and Dr. Empress, let's go get those vaccinations ready for tomorrow. Meeting adorned."

Epidemic

I stood up out of my seat and walked back to the bigger castle.

Who knew a pack of mindless beasts could be the least of our problems?
