"We have to go to the other castle. We can update everyone formally on the new findings." I said to Robino and Evan. They nodded their heads at my suggestion and quickly followed behind me.

We made our way to the other castle and after opening the front door, we were shoved right back out.

"What the hell?" Robino said voicing all of our thoughts out loud. Quickly after, Dr. Empress stepped out with a mask covering her face and three masks in her hand.

"Human?" She said after removing the mask and sniffing the air. "I could have sworn I smelt three wolves out here. I'm sorry but I can't allow her to go inside. You two, take these before you go in."

"Wait, what the hell is going on?"

"An outbreak. Highly contagious. With her immune system, even with the mask there's no telling how she will be affected."

"I was a born a wolf." Evan spoke up.

"All I can say is go in at your own risk then." Dr. Empress said. She stared at Evan and sniffed again before walking back in.

"You're going to stop me from going in, aren't you?" Evan said looking at me.

"We'll be back five minutes tops."

"And if not in five minutes?" She grabbed my arm and I felt my heart pound out of control.

"I would really appreciate it if you didn't come in." I flashed her a nervous smile while she stared. "But I can't force you."

Robino and I sled through the door. There were several "Do Not Cross" yellow tape lines hanging  across doors.

I spotted Dr. Powell immediately and headed his way.

"What happened in here?"

"Good to see you're okay Gary. We were testing treatments for the illness and it was made worse." His voice was muffled through the mask but I was sure I made out correctly what he said.

"What is worse?" Robino asked.

"Everyone that doesn't have a mask on is sick."

"How's the queen?" I asked. Her immune system might not be strong enough for both her and her baby.

"I put her in a room down the hall from the Alpha's. There's no guarantee she's one hundred safe but that's the best we can do at this moment."

"Why did no one contact me about this?"

"All abilities are weakened. No one can mind link." Dr. Empress' muffled voice explained from behind me.

"We just found out information about Diane."

"You can try telling Alerick through his locked door." Dr. Powell advised. He pointed to a direct door across the room.

"For your own safety, do not open it." Dr. Empress added.

Robino and I ran up the steps, me taking two at a time. I reached in front of the Alpha's room door.

"Alpha?" Deep coughs came from the room.

"Who's there?" I made out barely from behind the wooden door.

"It's Gary. I have a report on Diane. We have found her and are ready to take her into custody."

"Good work Gary. I'm glad we will be able to detain another enemy of the castle but I cannot focus on my Alpha duties at the moment. I'm too worried about Erica. To be honest, you're my first visitor all day so no one has given me an update on her. Can you do me a favor and check on her?"

"Yes Alpha." I looked at Robino, nodding and walked away from his door. I was filled with concern for him; I have never heard the Alpha so weak before.

I tried my best to follow Erica's scent and it took me to door down the hall with Robino in toll.

I knocked softly before speaking up. "Erica? You in there?"

"Gary?" I heard her voice clearly and sighed in relief.

"And Robino!" Robino yelled through the door and next to my ear. "Sorry." He whispered.

"I was sent by Alpha Alerick to check on your well being. How are you doing?"

"Wow Gary. You couldn't come check up on me without someone ordering you around?"

"My apologies my Queen." I quickly mumbled before bowing my head.

I heard her light laughter. "I'm kidding. It's just so tense around here I needed a laugh. Report back that I'm fine. That the baby is fine. Also if you don't mind, tell him I miss him and to focus on getting better."

"I don't mind at all." I responded with a smile. Somehow she always knew how to lighten the mood. "I feel like I should report to you as well. We have found Diane."

"That is good. Thank you for updating me. How is Evan taking all this?"

"She could be better." I answered honestly.

"Are you and Robino going after Diane?"

"I appreciate Robino's help so far but this is a worry of the castle's. I'll be waiting for the recovery of the Alpha and we will be heading out."

"I'm not so sure that's a good idea Gary." She said slowly.

"My Queen?" I asked astonished.

"The longer you wait, the bigger this problem becomes. I know first handed dealing with Dion."

"What does she mean?" I heard a voice ask from behind me. I turned to see Evan with a mask on her face.

"What are you doing in here?" I asked the same time as Erica asked. "Is Evan with you?"

"You said five minutes." She said aloofly. 

"Hello Evan. I'm so glad for the visit. You can stay with me so I won't be lonely." Erica said loudly through the door.

"I would love to do that for you my queen, I mean - Erica, I mean..." Evan stuttered "But I'm going with Gary."

"Babe I think it's best if you stay with the Queen especially since it seems you're not affected by what's going on." I pleaded.

"I understand the need to want to finish and your battles. And I also know we won't be able to stop you right now." The Queen said softly through the door.

Evan looked at me and took a deep breath. Then a deep sigh. She looked at me in the eye with such intensity. I've never seen her look at me like this before.

"Gary, I'm going to go."
