I walked outside of the restaurant closing the door behind me, locking up for the night. I turned around to get slapped in the face with cold wind. I walked along the streets; it was dark as a yawning grave. The trees danced in the distance with gushes of wind blowing by, I tugged my coat closer to my upper half; attempting to trap the warmth of my body heat in. It suddenly got unbearably cold. I needed to get home, fast.
I came across a dark alley way, which seemed to be a quicker route home. I debated whether or not it was very safe, but I was freezing like a corpse.
I took one step into the long and narrow alley way. ‘Snap’. I quickly jumped back, I looked around, but no one was near. I took a step forward again to hear the same snapping sound. I looked down and breathed a sigh of relief. It was just a stick.
I continued walking down the eerie alley way. It was a black hole; dark brick walls aligned the sides, like a never ending path. Dirt and sticks covered the cement like a jungle and the mist of the cold night hovered around my feet.
I walked further through the alley way. A rush of panic and regret washed through my body as I heard a blood curdling scream in the distance. I stopped in my tracks. I ferociously searched the visible area around me, seeing if anybody had come near.
I think I was just paranoid. I didn’t see a thing.
I launched my body into a sprint like a rocket, running the opposite direction from where I thought I heard the scream.
“Who are you running from?” a deep voice barked. A flow of adrenalin came through me, pushing my legs faster than before.
A dark figure sped in front of me, bringing my body to a sudden jolt.
“GET AWAY FROM ME!” I shouted. He was like lightning, gone in a flash running around my body. I threw my head side to side; there was no sign of him. I took a step, ready to make a run for it getting out of his vision, but something made me freeze. There was a warm breath tickling the back of my neck.
“But I can’t.” he softly made out. I whipped myself around to face the man, but he was gone.
I made another run for it while I could; this man was incredibly fast, like a cheetah. He could catch me without even trying if he saw me go. I turned my head to the back checking if he was following me, he wasn’t.
I started to feel a bit of relief but a sudden force pushed me, making me back up harshly into the wall. It felt like a small car had collided into my body.
I looked in front of me and there he was again.
“Please don’t hurt me.” I whimpered.
“Now, why on earth would I do that?” he replied.
I gulped as the shadowed man came closer, my heart was a bass drum beating rapidly and my hands were getting clammy. He took a step further reaching the shine of the moonlight. His face was now visible. My eyes travelled across his face. Stopping at his plump red lips formed into a smug smirk.
I continued searching when I found myself lost in his eyes. They were a memorising mix of sea green and dark blue. They were piercing into my own.
I ran my eyes up once more, landing on his hair. It was brown like dirt, swept across his forehead to the right side. The top was slightly styled up into some sort of a small quiff.
His skin was pure and pale, lit up from the moon, looking almost flawless.
He broke my intense staring with a deep chuckle.
“Like what you see?” he teased. It was a good thing it was dark as I felt my cheeks heat up instantly, blushing like a tomato.
