Alec's POV:

We spoke until it got late; about nothing important. He was a 21 year old working in a research lab- which is actually really cool, I would've loved to do something in the science department but I figured it wasn't really for me, seeing as I'm terrible at it.

"Alec! Come on it's getting late. Mum'll be worried." It was Izzy. Standing there with a look on her face that I'd never seen before.
I gave her a confused look myself, "Okay," and turned back to face Magnus, who was staring down at his empty glass, as his fingers traced the rim, not wanting to intrude. "It was nice meeting you, I had a lot of fun today. Maybe we can do this again sometime?"
"It was nice meeting you too, Alexander. I would love to do this again." I usually hate it when people call me by my full name, but when Magnus said it it had a sort of ring to it, which I definitely did not hate.

He grabbed a napkin and pulled out a pen from the pocket of his purple suit and started scribbling on it. When he was done he handed me the napkin and put the pen back into his pocket.
"Text me." He said before I had the chance to even glance at the messy ink. I smiled and walked back to Izzy. As I was walking through the bar I looked down at the napkin. It had a number on it and his name beneath it: Magnus Bane with a heart in the corner. Well that's one way to do it I thought to myself.

When I got to my younger sister she still had that stupid grin on her face.
"What?" I asked.
"You know what." She replied, with her lips still curled from one corner of her face to the other. "I told you you could do it."
"Don't give me the 'I told you so' speech. Let's go before mum thinks we're dead." I commanded as I pushed her to start walking. When we left I couldn't help but smile and look back through the window to see the most beautiful man I've met also looking back at me and smiling.

When we got home everyone was asleep apart from our mum.
"Where have you been? You're half an hour late!"
"Chill mum, it's only half an hour. Plus, Alec's got a date." Isabelle blurted out, not able to contain it for any longer.
"Izzy? It's...uh...it's not like that I-"
"Oh shut up Alec," My mum surprisingly interrupted. "You're 20 years old, it's about time. Stop acting like you're still 13. So tell me, who's the lucky guy?"
"It's...uh...it's no one. Goodnight." I said as I tried as hard as I could to get out of there and into my room. I ran upstairs, got into my room and shut the door behind myself. I let all my weight fall to be carried by the door and I couldn't help but laugh.

The next day I woke up and as it was my off day from the training centre (it was a Saturday) I thought that Magnus and I could go out for lunch.

I waited until 11:00 so I could make sure he wasn't still asleep. I found my jeans that I wore last night and started digging through the pockets trying to find the napkin. I grabbed my phone and saved his number and texted him:
Hey, it's Alexander from last night. I was just wondering if you wanted to go out for lunch today?
I waited for a while expecting no reply but then I heard a BING! It was him:
I would love to go out for lunch. 2:00 meet outside the bar. See you then.
I replied with a simple:
Okay see you then!
