Magnus's POV:

"Oh my god, what have I done?" I asked as Ragnor listened to my story intently. "It's been 2 days. Why didn't I have the courage to say something, or at least ask for his forgiveness?"
"Look, sometimes we make mistakes. I'm not saying that this was your fault or anything, but it happens. You've just got to explain yourself."
"I am explaining myself." I replied defensively.
"To the person that it matters to." He said looking at me as though it was so obvious. "You love him, yes?"
"Of course I do."
"Then you have to let him in. You've built a wall around your heart for so many years. When you find that person who finally breaks those walls down and makes you weak, you have to fight for each other. You have to fight for him. Love doesn't come easy unless you fight for it." What he said hit me like a truck. I understood everything. After Camille I did build a wall around my heart. And Alec did break it down. I had to fight for us, I had to fight for him. I stand up put on my shoes and open the door.
"Lock the door when you leave." I shout over my shoulder as I'm already out the door.
"My work here is done." I hear Ragnor say.

Alec's POV:

Someone was at the door. I walked over and opened it to see a sweating Magnus out of breath. I try to close the door but he quickly moved his foot to stop the door.
"What is it Magnus? I don't have time for this."
"Please I...we need to...need to talk." He replied in between gasps for air.
"I gave you time to talk, time to explain yourself. What did you do with that time? You stood there, stuttering, with that guilty look on your face." Every word I said got louder and louder till I was practically screaming.
"You were the one who ran out on me."
"How dare you? How dare you have the nerve to say it was my fault? What else was I supposed to do? What, was I supposed to wait there like a lost puppy until you came up with a lame excuse filled with lies? I have dignity!" Now I was screaming. My face went a bright red and my hands were clenched into fists.
"Alexander, please don't-"
"Don't what? What don't you want me to do now?" Still screaming I felt my heart beat faster and faster.
"I love you- Alexander. I love you, and only you. You're the only one in my life right now that makes me feel the way you make me feel." The first 'I love you' was almost a rushed shout. As though he was trying to say it quick enough before I started again. But the second one was slow and certain. That was the first time any of us had ever said those three words. "Alexander, you need to understand that Camille is a cunning and resentful bitch. She pushed me up against the wall in an attempt to get me back."
"And how do I know you're not lying?" I asked slightly calmer.
"Well I'm at your door, aren't I?...And, I found your gift." He reached into his pocket holding the two rings that were previously in the box which was now possibly in the bin.

"Alexander Gideon Lightwood, I promise to be with you...until I get sick and tired of you." He says jokingly. I playful hit his arm as I laughed, not able to hide my joy. He placed the ring that was meant for me on my finger.
"As do I." I said while smiling and placing the ring that was meant for him on his finger. We embraced in a long and lasting kiss. His hand moving up and down my arm. When we break away we touch our foreheads together as we smile at each other. He then buries his face in the crevice of my neck as we embrace in an even more lasting hug.
"I love you." I say holding him safely and securely in my arms.
"I love you too."
