Alec's POV:

I woke up the next morning, the silk sheets soft beneath me. My arm grazed the burgundy pillow as I stretched, I looked to my side and noticed that Magnus wasn't there. Even though this was normal, I panicked. I couldn't help it, I was paranoid. I quickly sat up and hurried out of the room. I looked out into the living room, which was oddly tidy, sunbeams crept through slits in the curtains and radiated on the wooden floor, which was cold beneath my feat. The smell of bacon and eggs caught my nose, leading me to the kitchen.

Standing at the hot stove was a shirtless Magnus. Tracksuit bottoms hung just above his pelvis, his bare feet steady on the ground. I didn't make a noise, yet he sensed my presence, he turned around, his hair flopped to the side. A small smile crept on his face. "Hey."
"Hi." I said, moving away from my previous position with half my body hidden behind the door. Magnus turned back around to the stove, placing the bacon and eggs on to two separate plates in equal servings. He turned to face me, putting the plates on the table.
"How you feeling?" He asked once he wasn't occupied.
"Better." I say, sitting down at the table as Magnus mirrored me.
"Good." He replied and we ate. Neither of us said much as we did so, there wasn't much to say.

Magnus stood up to gather the clutter created by the cooking. As he stood up, his abs flexed then relaxed once he started walking, as he picked up each plate, his muscles would slightly tense then relax. The two lines at either waist that lead down to his pelvis in a 'V' shape caught my eyes practically begging for me to stare at him, but my mind was too occupied. Even though I didn't have much to say, I definitely had a lot to think about. My thoughts took up all my energy, I would hate to repeat them.

"I'm going to my parents' house today, you're welcome to join." Magnus turned around from the sink and leaned on the counter.
"I'd love to." He said, repeating the same smile that curled his lips a moment ago. I stood up from the chair and walked towards Magnus. He was still leaning on the counter.
"Thank you." I said, wrapping my arms around his waist and placing a kiss on his lips.
"I'm ready when you are."

We were sat around the table at my parents' house. My dad in one seat and my mother in another. Izzy was also at the table with Simon by her side, I guess they were still together.

It was like a repeat of that morning at the apartment. No one spoke. I guess company was just as comforting. I looked up at my mother, she sternly stared at a mark on the table as a teardrop rolled down her face. You could almost hear as the teardrop hit the table. I started to observe her unconsciously. Her hair was messy and her makeup wasn't there. She was in a raggedy top and jeans. This was nothing like my mother, she'd always like to look good; always wore makeup and formal clothes. Her hair would always be in a neat, tight pony tail. This wasn't her.

"I'm sorry for your loss." Magnus said in an attempt to end the silence.
"Thank you." My dad replied and my mum simply nodded her head, then we went back to the soul sucking silence.
"He was a great boy." Izzy stated and my mum nodded yet again.
"He was." Our whole visit was like this, sitting in silence with someone making a comment about Max every now and then.

The visit was supposed to be funeral planning so, once everyone apart from my mum was acting normal, I pushed my mum to come back to herself and start planning.
I went into her bedroom, taking her laptop, a notepad and a pen with me to the kitchen where we were all sat. I set everything up in front of my her. She didn't move but stared straight ahead of herself.
"Come on mum," I encouraged in a calm and quiet voice. "Let's do this. Let's do this for Max." Nothing. Izzy had an arm around her to relax her.
"Mum, listen to me. We need you to be here with us." Nothing. I started to grow frustrated. "Come on, mum. We need you! Max needs you!" I started to raise my voice, I felt Magnus's arm on my shoulder to calm me down.
"COME ON!" Magnus's hands started to pull me back, I shoved him out of the way and went to the bathroom, locking the door.

I leaned against the door and slid to a sitting position, my head also leaned back. I hit the back of my head against the door in anger. Tears started to stream out my eyes and I leaned my head into my hands and started to sob. A moment later there was a knock at the door.
"Alexander?" It was Magnus.
"Go away."
"Come on, don't be childish. Open the door."
"Just leave me alone, Magnus!" There was a moment of silence in which I thought Magnus had left.
"Alexander, please. Just... open the door." There was another moment of silence, as though the whole day was just a series of silences, I thought about whether to let him in or not. I finally stoop up and unlocked the door. Magnus came in and looked at me, he closed the door as he took a step closer to me. We just stared at each other and I couldn't hold it in any more. I burst into tears yet again, but this time I fell in the arms of Magnus. I buried my head in his neck, I felt his hand go to the back of my head to support me. He lightly stroked my head, kissing it and tucking it under his chin. My arms were curled to my chest in the way a foetus would. He held me securely and pulled me in hard.
"It's J-just, my m-mum's never like th-this." I said in between breaths.
"Shhhh... Don't." I buried my head back into his neck and did the one thing I could do.

Cry.
