Magnus's POV:

It had been 4 years since the whole promise ring incident and Alexander was still the love of my life. I think it was time to make the real promise.

I was on my way to pick up Alec so we could have a picnic. I knocked on the door and soon after my blue eyed boy showed up. Before he could say a word, I grabbed his face with my two hands and pulled him down into a kiss. His hands moved down to my waist and he pulled me closer to him.
As he broke the kiss he asked, "What was that all about?"
"Can't a boyfriend kiss his boyfriend?" I asked, answering a question with a question knowing he hated when I did so.
"Let's go!"

We made our way down to the park.
"Oh my God! This is the park where we had our first date!" Alec said. "That was a good day."
"It truly was, Alexander." I said as I looked up and moved closer to him. His arm was flung over my shoulder, keeping me close. It was Spring. All the plants were vibrant colours. Red roses outlined the path. The smell of lavender lingered. As we got to the exact spot where we had our first date, Alexander's hand went straight to his mouth, which was wide open.
"You remember the exact spot? I can't believe you!"
"I know I know I know, I'm the best."

When we finished our food and wine he looked at me and smiled.
"What?" I asked after a pause with pure silence.
"Nothing, you're just- you're so beautiful." He replied. We had been together for years and I've heard so many compliments and yet I still blush every time. I laughed and looked away as his eyes were glued to my face.
"Stop it!" I finally said.
"I can't. You're mesmerising." He said not moving his eyes an inch, his eyes that glistened in the light of the night, his eyes which I couldn't think could get any more beautiful until I saw them under the moonlight. I laughed yet again and looked back at him. It's time I thought to myself.
"Alec, I have a question to ask you."
"What is it?" As he said, then I lifted myself up to the typical one knee on the floor pose. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a box. Alec's slender hand went straight to cup his mouth. I opened the box and inside sat a simple black ring. I knew Alec wasn't much of a fan of showy things.

"Oh...my...God! Is- is this real?"
"Yes, this is as real as it gets." I replied. "Alexander Gideon Lightwood, from the moment I saw you, I wanted to meet you. From the moment I met you, I wanted to know you. From the moment I knew you, I was in love with you. And from that moment to this, and for all the moments to come, I will love you with all my heart." Alec started pooling out tears, his hand was still over his mouth. Seeing him like that made my voice start to croak. "My blue eyed boy, w- will you marry me?"
After a moment of Alec trying to compose himself he finally blurted out, "Y- yes! Yes, of course stupid!" He said as he pulled me up and our lips crashed, in a hard yet loving kiss that lingered.

Remembering the ring, I break the kiss and take it out of the box. I grabbed Alec's hand and placed the black ring on his thin finger. Tears started to stream out of my own eyes as he looked at me and said, "I love you!" We kissed yet again then embraced in a heartfelt hug.
"I love you too."

We were like this for a moment and I never wanted it to end.
