THIRD PERSON POVThe golden haired boy collapsed to the ground, his blade dropping besides him. Jocelyn stood over him, a wide smirk plastered on her face.
"Now my daughter can have a real marriage, with someone she actually loves." Jocelyn muttered, wiping the blood from his neck onto his shirt. The middle aged woman stalked away, leaving no trace it was her. Or so she thought.
As Jocelyn rounded the bushes, someone with pale skin and freckles everywhere, grabbed her arm.
"Where are you going, and why do you have blood all over your hand, mom?" Clary accused using a harsh tone. Jocelyn was taken by surprise, so she didn't answer right away.
"I-Um scraped my hand looking for roses." Her mother blurted out. Clary cocked and eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest, protectively.
"Really. Way to lie, I saw you!" The twenty year old screamed, tears brimming her eyes. She wanted to cry so badly, but she blinked the tears back," You just killed him because I loved him and you didn't approve. I can't even look at you." Clary turned away, tears slipping down her cheeks. Her mother tried to grab her but Clary sprinted past her.
The girl ran to the figure crumpled on the soft grass. His neck was snapped to the left, leaving it unattached from the spinal cord. His golden hair was stained with spreading red liquid and his face was pale as a ghost. His brain was dead, as was the rest of him.
"My baby." Clary whispered through her tears. Clary bent close to Jace and pressed his broad chest against hers in a desperate hug. She would never talk to her mother again. Her mother killed her fiancé.

"Clary, from the first time I saw you, I immediately knew you were it. I was done with any other girl for life because I saw you. When we first kissed I almost screamed out ' I love you,' but forced it down. Then you were my sister and I wanted to die. Knowing you were there and I couldn't have you killed me.
" I have died for you and you almost me. Then we found out we weren't related and I was overjoyed. Now we are together and I couldn't ask for anything else. So, Clarissa Adele Fairchild, would you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" Jace asked, hope shimmering through his gold eyes. Clary couldn't talk she just nodded, tears running down her face.
Jace slipped the Herondale family ring on her ring finger. It fit perfectly and showed she was taken. From then on, Clary knew she'd always be happy, as long as she had Jace.

Present time CLARY POV
My mother snuck out, and I wanted to see where she went. I followed her to the field in the back of the institute, where Jace was sitting by a tree reading. He looked so peaceful, so young, just like when I met him 2 years ago in that club. My mom tiptoed behind him as he drifted off into a light sleep. I thought she'd wake him up and talk to her soon to be son-in-law, but from the way she snuck around him, checking his neck out I was wrong. Jocelyn grabbed his neck, shaking him from his light sleep and yelled," Don't fight back and Clary doesn't get hurt. You fight, I kill her." He stopped squirming and fell into her hold. She grabbed the back of his neck and turned it sharply. His body went limp as his eyes dulled. She snapped his neck so hard blood rushes from the break point.Tears rushed to my eyes, falling freely, my body felt like jelly. My Mind kept shutting down, not letting me think. When I finally thought clear. I decided to figure out why the hell she did this.
.....After fight.....
That son of a bitch actually snooped that low. Killing my fiancé? I thought as I sobbed into Jaces hard chest. His nonexistent heartbeat echoed in my mind from memory. She ruined my only happiness. My inner voice would not shut up. I picked my head up and stared at the silver ring sitting on my ring finger. I'm supposed to be a Herondale in two months. My mind screamed as I looked at it, tears still spilling down my face.
A wave of anger took over as I ripped the ring from my finger. I was about to throw it as hard as I could across the field but then I realized it was my only part of Jace. I wiped my angry tears and took the chain from my neck. I
un-clasped the chain and slipped the Morgenstern ring off. I threw that into a slow river, feet away and slipped the Herondale ring on it. I put the chain on and took a deep breath."Revenge is a bitch, and she knows that."
