Night Madness

Strangely, all of the snow melted away and it is super hot. There is no need for the pelt anymore, since it's about 85 degrees now. Plus it's nighttime...

You have no clue how everything is going to turn out, but you wish you have more time to escape.

You and Taehyung have no weapons to defend yourselves, you guys only have Maru. He's your only hope, and if he dies, how would you find your way out?

So for a weapon, you and Tae just grabbed a nearby stick that was good enough to cause harm. But you have no flashlight to see, so you need to get used to the dark.

Although strangely, its pretty bright out for it being night time, it's usually really dark around this time.

"Full moon!" Maru whispered excitedly. That explains it being brighter out than normal, but does that mean trouble?

"Are you going to change?" Taehyung asked him, which Maru just shook his head fastly.

"No, I'm not a werewolf. But full moons is when my pack comes to go hunting together until the next full moon," You gulp as you clutch the stick closer to you, feeling a rush of anxiety run through your body.

"We are known as the forest combers."

"What are the chances of them finding us?" You asked, which Maru just lifts his head smelling the air.

"One hundred percent, they're coming," He whispered. You froze in terror and looked at Taehyung who seemed to be in a fighting stance holding the stick up. "They are close."

You looked around, waiting to see approaching Interitums. Although minutes passed by and you have seen none.

"They're here," Maru growled. You scanned the area but you still see none! Taehyung looks confused as well, circling around hoping to see one so he can defend us.

"Wher--"

Before you could finish your sentence, a huge pile of black smoke appeared out of nowhere and an Interitum emerges from it, in front of your eyes.

You squeaked from the sudden appearance and swung the stick at his head, but before it could strike him, he teleported away from you.

"It can teleport?!" You screeched as Maru jumped towards it and bit its jugular, which made it bleed to death.

"Yeah, that's why we have to be careful," Maru said, throwing the Interitum's body to the side.

"Humans cant kill us, so you distract them and I'll kill them!" Maru said, walking over towards us. As he did so, a few more piles of smoke appeared in several different places at once.

"Maru, what are you doing?" One of them said. Unlike Maru, this Interitum has a very deep voice. He must be the pack leader. He has an area on his leg where there is a scar and a patch of fur missing, and his goat skull mask is half broken, revealing his face that has scratch marks on it.

"Lino! Don't hurt them," Maru ordered. The pack leader's name is Lino? You would have guessed.

He just laughed at Maru's order, something tells you that he won't listen to reason. So you back up a little away from them.

"Why can't we?" He asked licking his lips while staring at you, which made you shiver and tense up. The other Interitum's just surrounded you so you can't move any further.

"They are not food!" Maru yelled. But Lino just walked away from Maru and walked up towards you, sniffing you.

"But.... She seems so tasty...." He said. Your heart skipped a beat when you saw his mouth opened wide, trying to bite you. But before he could, Taehyung let out a loud grunt as he smacked the stick on Lino's head, turning him into smoke.
