Last Effort

You and Taehyung were still hugging Maru in a tight grasp, you don't want to let go, but you have to. You don't want to leave Maru, but you have to. So you all just enjoyed the moment together, since it's you're last one with Maru.

You and Taehyung let go of him and finished eating the Raspberries before getting up and walking over to the exit of the cave.

"Are you ready?" Maru asked as you and Taehyung nodded at the same time. Maru started to walk ahead of you to see if the coast is clear.

"Do you see Mors?" Taehyung asked Maru, which he just shook his head.

"No, but when I say go, make a run for it and follow me," Maru ordered. He walked out of the cave casually and looked around.

"Ready... Get set..." Maru started to say as you and Taehyung got into a running stance. You feel so nervous, you have never felt so scared in your life, but it's time you realize;

This is it... This is your last chance to make it out. No putting it back, you have no time to do so, its either now or never...

"Go!" Maru shouted as he booked it out of the cave. You and Taehyung followed behind him, sprinting like you did during the storm, although this seems more intense.

"30 more minutes, this is where the hell will begin," Rapmon's voice appeared as you heard his horrifying words. You feel as if you're on the spot, so it makes it more worse.

This is where the hell begins, how so? Whats going to happen that was worse than an hour ago? You don't want to find out, but you know you will.

You also know that the forest doesn't want you to leave, like it's alive somehow... Like the creatures are distracting you so you wouldn't proceed any further, like the Interitum's that you first met, for example.

"How close are we?" Taehyung asked with all the rapid steps making his voice bouncy.

"Pretty close, about a football field and a half left to go!" Maru replied back. Although that doesn't seem that far, it is pretty long distance...

As you were running, you noticed roots and vines were creeping up behind you and beside you, about to swing at your feet.

"Watch out!" You yelled as you jumped over the swinging roots. They were swinging at Taehyung and Maru also, so you were basically jumping over vines while running. It felt like skip roping.

You looked behind you to also see more vines and roots stretching to grab hold of you, so that made your running speed increase.

"Ran faster!" You requested as their speed picks up too. The sound of the vines were making a whipping should as it was swinging at your feet, but you can barely hear it because the sound of your thumping heart drowns the sound out.

"Please don't leave..." You heard a tiny voice say as you felt something tugging at your hair. You tried to smack it away, but it keeps dodging. From the corner of your eye, you see that it's a pixie.

"Leave me alone!" You yelled as you kept swatting at it. Since your attention had been drawn to the pixie, the vines hit your feet, making you stumble a little bit.

"Please don't leave us," She asked you as your groaned in irritation. You ignored her as you focused mostly on the vines outback of you and beside you. Though since she's trying to tug you back with your hair, it caused a lot of pain. It was hard to ignore her.

"Go away!" You heard Taehyung exclaim. You looked over to him to see that another pixie was irritating him as well, but she was tugging him back by his ear.
