Woooooo two updates in a day yayyyy

Summary: Gabriel is a dreamer, with a brilliant taste in music. One of the Trickster's longtime prom dreams is to have a slow dance with someone he loves, while Starlight by Muse was playing in the background. When he started to date Sam Winchester two years ago and they were still going strong, that problem was solved. But he knew that with those basic popular characterless girls in charge of music, that wasn't going to happen. Until Sam decides to do something about it.

Third person POV:

"It's okay Charles, I knew it wasn't going to happen" Gabriel said as he sat next to one of the tables set up for the seniors, trying not to mope. Nobody (besides his boyfriend and best friends) could know that the school Trickster, Gabriel, had a secret soft spot (that being the fact that he was so far up Matthew Bellamy's ass he could see through his mouth, and honestly same), and wanted his senior slow dance to be to the song Starlight by Muse, dancing with someone he truly loved.

Now, he did love Sam Winchester with all his heart, and he knew Sam loved him too, but watching Amelia Sheppard and Ruby Masters grinding onto their boyfriends to the tune of some random song by some random rapper, he knew that the chance of the song he really wanted playing was slim.

"C'mon, Gabriel, let's have some fun! It's Prom night, for crying out loud!" Charlie, one of his best friends, exclaimed. She of course, did actually know about Gabriel's wish, but tried to ignore it. "You have a smoking hot boyfriends by your side that loves you an-wait there's Sam?" She suddenly asked. Gabriel looked up and realized, indeed, that Sam was not there.

The question about Sam's whereabouts was actually answered a few moments later, when they realized he was next to the DJ, yelling at him. "What do you mean you can't?! It's one fucking song!" He exclaimed. The DJ said something, looking quite agitated, and Sam huffed, and stormed away.

He quickly made his way towards his boyfriend, who was sending a smile that was quite clearly fake, because who tf actually smiles at someone that was thrown away from somewhere, towards his direction. "Listen, it's really not that important..." Gabriel tried to say. "Gabe, listen-it is. And not just because it's your wish or anything. I mean of course it is but... Do you actually think I actually want to slow dance to some random-ass slow song with half the senior year grinding on each other all around us? No." The moose said, getting and a snort followed by a laugh from his boyfriend, which made him smile.

As much as Gabriel's laughter was fucking weird, and he never sounds like a human being when he's laughing, Sam loves to hear the fucked up, weird-ass sound coming from Gabriel.

"Wait, I have an idea!" Sam said, and with that, ran out of the ballroom. "O... Kay?" Gabriel said to no one in particular.

After 5 minutes without Sam returning he was getting bored.

7 minutes in he was getting worried.

10 minutes in he began to worry Sam had ditched him.

13 minutes later, Gabriel was getting pretty sad.

17 minutes later, Sam has returned with a small bag, the contents inside will be revealed shortly, only to find Jessica Moore and one of her friends picking on his trickster. As he gradually got closer and to ear shot, he got more and more pissed. "-Even your boyfriend for two years didn't really want to go to prom with you, that's why he ditched you" Jessica snorted.

"Actually, that's incorrect." Sam said behind her, making her jump, then she immediately started fixing up her dress and hair, as if trying to impress him. "Oh stop trying, you've been hitting on me for a year, nothing's changed, let it go" Sam said, pulling a bitchface. She grumpily stopped. "And no, I was not ditching my beautiful, Amazing boyfriend. I was getting him something that would make this piss-poor prom night slightly more fun, so fuck off." He said, pushing Jessica away, rushing to his boyfriend and kissing him, while still holding onto the bag. "I'm sorry I left for so long" Sam said, kissing him between every two or three words. "Hey, it's okay, it's not like anything Jess said actually affected me. I'm seriously done with listening to what other people have to say about us. I don't care" Gabe said nonchalantly as a slow song started. He didn't even know who sang it.

"Come with me, what I got was especially for this." Sam said, pulling his boyfriend out of the ballroom, aka gym.

Seeing how it was 10pm by then, it was dark outside, and that could even see stars. "Perfect!" Sam exclaimed, followed by "take out your phone and headphones, I know you brought them." and pulling out what he got from the bag, which was revealed to be a set of earphones, and a headphone splitter (pic above).

Gabriel was beginning to get the idea and was honestly surprised he didn't think of it earlier.

And when he saw Sam plug their headphones into the splitter and the splitter into the phone, he couldn't help but smile at the guy he loved as they both put their headphones into their ears. That, kids, is why you date a smart guy.

Sam pressed play, put the phone in his pocket, and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's waist. Gabriel rested his head against Sam's chest as the lyrics began, and let the music and the feeling of Sam's body wrapped against his consume him.

Far away
This ship has taken me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Starlight
I will be chasing a starlight
Until the end of my life
I don't know if it's worth it anymore

"Thank you for this" Gabe said, looking up at Sam. "I love this, I love the idea, I love the timing, I love you" he added. "I love you too." Sam said, pecking him on the lips.

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

"Well, is your wish granted? Slow dancing with someone you love to Starlight?" Sam asked with a small, shy smile. "Definitely."

My life
You electrify my life
Let's conspire to ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive

I'll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

They continued to dance, pulling each other closer, if it was even possible. As the background slowly blended into nothing, they found themselves not caring that much.

The star light makes him look so pretty, Gabriel thought in the relaxed, joyful state he was in, wrapped in Sam's arms. Little did he know, Sam had the exact same thoughts about the short candy-eating machine known as Gabriel Novak before him.

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

Far away
This ship has taken me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

I'll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away

"What did I do to deserve you?" Gabriel asked, looking up at his moose of a boyfriend. "You didn't need to do anything. You were funny. And cute. And flirty. And courageous. Can you ask for more?"

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms
I just wanted to hold...

As the song ended, the two boys discovered it was much better this way. Because why would you want to dance along with couple grinding onto each other, single girls awkwardly dancing with their best friends as an attempt to cover up their loneliness, and people muttering bitterly in a room crowded and suffocating, when you can dance alone, in the chill night air, to Starlight, in the star light?

Who could ask for any more? Who could have more?
