Chapter 11

Maya POV

Riley took me back to her room and of course we went straight to the Bay Window. Once seated she turned to look at me and I could see the concern all over her face. I was kind of dreading this conversation because to be quite honest. I was worried that she was going to give me an "I told you so" because the first conversation we ever had about Lucas she told me she was worried about it. She picked up my hand and gently held it in hers.  She looked over at me and sighed.

"Peaches, you got to get yourself together. I don't like seeing you like this." she said finally breaking the silence. 

"Riley, you don't understand. I love him." I said as I looked at her. 

"No, I do understand that you love him but Maya you have to think positive." she said and I was really confused on how she could think that I could be positive right now.

"It's hard to be positive when he's not here with me." I sniffled. 

"Yes, you certainly can. Maya, you and him got so close during the last few months, and then he comes here to where you actually get to spend time with him and you actually get to kiss him." she replied and I was confused as to where she was going with this. "But peaches you are going to see him again and when you do it's going to be even better than the first time around." 

"That's why I'm scared. What if I never get to see him again?" I asked. 

"That's crazy Maya. One or way another you are going to see him again. Your mom will make sure that you do and if she doesn't then I'll make sure you see him again." she answered. 

"You think so Riles?" I said as I bit my bottom lip. 

"I know so. Maya Hart is not a quitter. She doesn't give up that easily. When Maya Hart wants something she gets it." she replied and I leaned my head on her shoulder. 

"You're right, Riles. I have to have a little faith." I said with a smile. 

Riley and I talked a little bit longer about the whole situation with Lucas. She made me feel a little better. At least now I was ready to eat something. Topanga made pancakes and if you ever had her pancakes you'd know that they are the best around. Riley and I went out to the kitchen and took our places at the table. 

"How you holding up kiddo?" Cory asked. 

"I'm alright. I've definitely been better."  I replied. 

"Topanga is going to try and fix this Maya." my mom said. 

"How can she fix it?" I curiously asked. I was a bit confused. 

"I'm going to see what I can do about getting him off probation." Topanga said with a smile. 

"Really?" Riley said with excitement. "I told you that Mom would make sure you get to see him again." 

I stood up from the table and walked over to Topanga. I was crying again when I thanked her for helping Lucas and me. The thought of seeing Lucas again made my heart speed up Could Topanga actually pull this off? Could she get Lucas off probation so that he can come home to me?" After finishing up breakfast and chatting a little while longer Mom and I decided to head back on home.  I told her I was going to take nap and would be around later. I entered my room and got into my comfy bed. I pulled the blankets up over me and that's when Lucas's scent hit me again which only made me miss him more.I received a text from Lucas telling me that he landed safely. I started crying a little bit and eventually drifted off to sleep. When I woke up I knew I had to get myself out of bed to shower so that I felt refreshed when I babysat Kenzie. I arrived to Ms. Friars place on time. We talked for a few minutes while Kenzie played and just like everyone else she told me that things would work out. It wasn't long after our convo that she made her way onto work. MckEnzie came out of her room holding a stuffed kitty cat, one of her pillows, and a blanket. 

She made her way onto the couch and cuddled into me. "Don't be sad Maya." she said to me. 

"I'm not sad. I'm okay I promise." reasured her. 

"But you miss Lucas." she said and I paused for a minute. 

"Of course I miss Lucas but I promise you I'm fine.."  I replied with a smile. 

"Maya, I saw you kissing him when he was Santa Claus." she said causing me to giggle. 

"That was pretty funny wasn't it?" I asked her and she just nodded. 

"That's not the only time I've seen you two kiss. " she replied and I looked at her confused. "On the night Santa left presents I came downstairs to get a drink of water and I saw you took kissing over by the window." 

"Nothing gets by you does it?" I said as I gave her a hug. 

"He makes you happy doesn't he Maya?" she asked. 

"Yes, he does." 

"He makes me happy too. I'm going to miss him to you know." she said with a sad expression.

"I know Kenz. This really does stink huh?" I asked her.

"Yes it does." she replied. 

"I guess we will have to get through this together won't we?" I asked her as i looked down at her.  

"I love you Maya and so does Lucas. Everything is going to be okay. He will come back again. Lucas would never break a promise." 

"I love you too, munchkin." 

Kenzie and I decided to watch movies on Netflix all day. We found some funny Christmas ones, and then of course we popped in her Frozen DVD since that movie was her favorite. I couldn't help but wonder what Lucas was up to. I knew that soon he'd be calling me to FaceTime. I sent him a text message that read "I love you." and he responded back to me saying "I love you too, we'll  FaceTime in a bit."  I couldn't wait for that FaceTime call.
