Chapter 33

Maya POV

The next morning I awoke in Lucas's arms.  He was still sleeping peacefully as he held me.  I couldn't help but smile when I thought about how lucky I am to have him in my life.  Looking back I would have never guessed that I'd fall so deeply in love with someone like the way I've done with Lucas. Who would think that a simple FaceTime call would lead to so much more? I certainly didn't. As I lay there deep in thought about being so in love with Lucas I hadn't even realized he had woke up.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked causing me to break my train of thought.

"I was thinking about you." I said with a smile.

"What about me?" He curiously asked.

"I was thinking about how much I'm in love with you." I said with a smile.  "You stole my heart with one simple FaceTime call."

"You stole my heart with one simple touch of a green button." He replied.

"I still laugh about the Santa suit." I giggled.

"You are never going to let that go are you?"

"Never." I chuckled. "Can you let me go so I can go pee?" 

"No." he said as he gripped me tighter. 

"Why do you always do this? One of these days you are going to make me pee myself." I giggled. 

"Fine but you need to come right back to me." he said as he let me go. 

When Lucas let me go I got up to use the bathroom and brushed my teeth while I was in there. I had one of his t-shirts on again. I always wore his shirts to bed. I was kind of cold so I hurried back to him and jumped on the bed causing Lucas to look up from his phone. 

"You're that excited to come back to me?" he said with a smile. 

"Well that and I'm cold." I said as I pulled the covers up over me. 

"Come here, I'll warm you up." he said with a smile. I snuggled into him and he wrapped his arms around me. Nothing felt better than being in his arms. 

"So my ex just texted me." he said and I looked up at him with a surprised look on my face. 

"You tell the bitch your mine?" I said causing him to chuckle. 

"Of course. She just broke up with her boyfriend and was trying to get back with me. I shut her down." he replied and handed me his phone. "I blocked her number." 

"Good. Otherwise I may have to step in and shut her up." I replied. 

"You're so cute when you are jealous." he said to me. 

"Promise you'll never leave me?" I asked him.

"I promise I will never leave you.  Ever. You're stuck with me for good." he said as he rubbed his hand along my arm. 

"I decided I'm going to go to college to become a social worker to help children in the foster systems." I replied. "I just worry about what will happen to us when we go to college."
