A/N: Going to be a bit of a time jump.
Maya POV
Things have gotten better since the whole ordeal with Nate happened. He's in jail now and won't be getting out for a long time thanks to Topanga. Today is March 10th and Lucas's 18th birthday which fell on a Saturday. My mom was going to be out of town with Shawn this weekend so I decided on a romantic dinner at my place. Lucas loves my cooking so I decided I was going to make us steak with baked potatoes, and a salad for dinner. Dinner was set for 6:00 so after frosting the cake I hopped in the shower. I was so excited for him to get here. I even went shopping with Riley and bought a beautiful dress to wear. I put my hair up in a cute bun and did my make up. I was in the middle of lighting some candles when there was a knock at the door. My handsome cowboy made perfect timing.
I opened the door and smiled at him "Hey birthday boy. I'm so glad you are finally here." I said to him as he stood there looking at me agape.
"I'm pretty sure that I have the most stunning and beautiful girlfriend in the history of ever." he said causing me to blush.
"Well I'm pretty sure that I have hottest boyfriend ever who speaking of needs to get in here and have dinner with his stunning girlfriend." I said as I stood to the side so he could walk in.
"Your in luck because I'm starving." he said before giving me a small kiss on the lips.
I grabbed Lucas's hand and together we walked over to the table. "I decided on steaks for dinner. I hope you will like it." I said as we made are way over.
"Wow, Maya you really outdid yourself." he said as he noticed everything set up. "And I'm sure that I will love the steaks because I love your cooking."
I told Lucas to sit down at the table while I made our plates. Everything looked perfect and I just hoped that it tasted good. I pretty much had everything ready for us. The first thing I did was grab the salads and put them on the table then I made our plates giving us each a steak and baked potato.
"Everything is delicious, Maya." Lucas said before taking a sip of his Pepsi.
"I'm so glad that you like it. I was worried about how it would taste." I answered truthfully.
"You did an amazing job, Maya. I appreciate you doing this for me." he said with a smile.
"It's your birthday and I wanted it to be special." I replied.
Lucas reached his hand across the table and placed it on mine "You make every day special just by being a part of it. I love you."
"I love you too."
After Lucas and I finished dinner I wanted him to open his gift from me so he went and sat on the couch while I grabbed it. The gift I decided on wasn't anything major, it was just a picture collage frame that had pictures of him and I in it and a drawing that I did of him and McKenzie. I grabbed the gifts and walked over to him on the couch.
"These are your presents from me, Huckleberry." I said as I handed him the wrapped gifts.
"You really didn't have to get me anything." he said and I just rolled my eyes at him.
"Of course I did. It's your 18th birthday." I replied.
Lucas began opening the gifts first stating with the picture frame. I watched as his face turned into a big smile once he realized what it was.
"Maya I love this. I love that you included FaceTime photos of us." he chuckled.
"I'm glad you like it. Open the other one. It's the one I'm most excited about." I said with a smile.
"I love it. I'm going to put it right in my room." he replied as he grabbed the other gift to open it.
"I'm glad you that you do." I replied.
I watched as Lucas opened the drawing. I couldn't wait to see his reaction to it. Once he saw what it was he looked over at me with a serious expression on his face.
"Maya, this is incredible." he said to me. "I'm in awe of how amazing this is."
"Thank you. I'm glad you love it. I know that aside from me Kenzie is very special to you so I wanted to draw you." I answered.
"How did I get so lucky to have such an incredibly beautiful, stunning, smart, and talented girlfriend?"
I grabbed the drawing out of Lucas's hands and sat it on the coffee table that was in front of us. I crawled upon his lap so that I was straddling him and put my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around me holding onto me tightly.
"I ask myself the same thing about you. I'm the luckiest girl alive to have such a handsome, sweet, caring, and protective boyfriend. A Huckleberry who treats me like a queen and makes me feel safe." I said as I looked into his beautiful green eyes.
"You did get pretty lucky, didn't you? 'he replied with a smile.
"I did." I said before leaning in and kissing him on the lips.
I traced my tongue along his bottom lip, letting him know I wanted more access to his mouth. Once I was granted that access the kiss began to deepen and get more passionate. It had been awhile since we had been intimate like this. The whole thing with Nate had caused me to not be as into it. After we finished being intimate I told him it was time for the cake. I had made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and bought bought number candles a one and an eight to put on the cake. I knew he would love it. I sang happy birthday to him and he blew out the candles. We then decided to watch a movie and cuddle the remainder of the night. I was so happy that the night turned out to be perfect. I really did have the best boyfriend.
