Chapter 40

A/N: Okay so I wasn't going to post this but I'm excited for my friends to read this chapter. Well this is it. I hope you guys enjoy the last chapter and will follow the sequel to this book! Hope all have enjoyed this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it. 

Maya POV

Today was June 16th and also the day that we all graduated High School. Things were going wonderful with Lucas and I. My mom helped me get into an OBGYN to get the pregnancy confirmed. The doctor confirmed that I was indeed pregnant and that I was due on December 27th.  Lucas and I talked a lot and decided we were going to keep the baby. It took Riley about a week before she started talking to Lucas again. I had to basically talk to her several times before she agreed to let him explain himself. Lucas wasn't upset with her. He understood why she was upset with him. Farkle on the other hand took a little bit more convincing but after the four of us talked everything was back to normal again.  Riley and I were sitting in her bedroom looking through old pictures of us from when were little. Topanga had taken so many of us. 

"You know Riles, looking at these pictures of me when I was a baby really makes me wonder what me and Lucas baby is going to look like." I said to her with a smile. 

"Your baby is going to be beautiful." Topanga said causing Riley and I look up at her. We hadn't even realized she was there. 

"Mom's right. Your baby is going to be beautiful peaches." Riley said with a smile. 

Topanga walked over and sat down between me and Riley. 

"I'm so proud of both of you girls. You two have grown on me way too fast. It seems like yesterday I was changing both of your diapers and now with a snap of a finger you are graduating High School." she said and I could tell she was trying not to tear up. "Maya, you are going to be an amazing mother and with all of the support you have there should be no worries about what is going to happen. Lucas is a great guy and if you were going to get pregnant by anyone I'm glad it's him." 

"Thank you Topanga. that really means a lot." I said as I wiped a tear off my cheek. "Without you I wouldn't have Lucas with me for everyday." 

"You're welcome, Maya." she said and then turned to Riley "Riley my beautiful baby girl. Where has the time gone? Your dad and I are so very proud of you. My baby girl is going off to college. Do you know how much of an adjustment that is going to be for me? If I would have been able to keep you a baby forever I would have. You've evolved into such a wonderful, caring, loving, person and I couldn't be more proud to call you my daughter." 

"Awe thanks Mom. Don't make me emotional." Riley said as she wiped a tear away.  

After Riley and I got done looking at pictures I decided to head on home and get around for Graduation. I was wearing a cute dress and Mom helped me with my hair and make up. She was helping me put my cap on when she looked up at me with a tear sliding down my cheek. 

"It's always been you and me baby girl. I'm so proud of you. I can't believe that not only are you graduating but that my baby is having a baby." she said as she wiped a tear away. "You have officially grown up much to my liking but what can you do? I'm so sorry I never did more to have your dad in your life." 

"Mom, don't worry about that. You were my Dad. Why do you think I get you a Fathers day card every year?" I said an she chuckled. "You have done an amazing job and I hope that I'm half the mother to my baby as you are to me. Everything I learned was from you. I love you." 

Mom gave me a small kiss on the cheek "I love you too. Lets get going. Lucas is going to be waiting for us. 

 Mom and I left the apartment she picked Shawn up then we went to the school. Lucas's family had flown in from Texas for his graduation. His Dad wasn't mad about the baby and his family was very supportive.  We took our pictures together outside of the school and then went in. I was getting nervous but I knew I'd get through it. I was excited to start my new journey with Lucas. He got accepted to NYU and so did I. I couldn't wait to start my classes and get a degree in Social Working. The Graduation Ceremony lasted an hour and when Mr. Tuner gave us our diplomas I couldn't wait until we were officially declared the graduating class of 2017. 

Mr. Turner turned to look at us then back at the audience "I present to you the gradauting class of 2017" . 

I turned to look at Lucas who was smiling at me and I smiled back. He grabbed my hand as we stood up and turned our Tassels. I pulled his arm to make him look at me. 

"Lucas?" I said to him and he turned to face me. 

"What?" he asked with a confused expression on his face. 

"I know this is really spontaneous and for that I'm sorry but I have a question." I answered as I bit my bottom lip. 

"What is it?" he asked. 

"Will you marry me?" I said as I waited for his response. 

His expression turned from shock to happiness within a matter of seconds.  "I would love nothing more than to marry you and be with our baby forever." he said as he leaned into kiss me. 

Once we broke a part Lucas grabbed my hand and we walked off the stage together. He took me by out by our lockers one last time and turned to look at me. 

"Maya?" he asked, 

"Yes, Lucas?" I replied. 

"How did we get this far from just a simple FaceTime call? Our relationship is goals. Not many people have what we have. We have a baby on the way with a extremely big support system, and soon we will be getting our place. How did this become of us?" 

I looked up at him and smiled, "Lucas its so very simple. Don't you see?" It was fate."
