Chapter 3-Lexie's Birthday

I woke up with a big yawn, I reached out for my calendar which was sitting on my bedside table. It turned it around, picking up the pen to cross of the date before staring at it, June 26th, ITS MY BIRTHDAY! I walked to my brother's bedroom, but for once he was up before me, did I sleep in? I walked downstairs but it was pitch black so I couldn't see anything, when I switched on the lights I was greeted with my mum, dad and brother, joined by Kitty who jumped out shouting "SURPRISE" The room was decorated with banners, balloons and there was a table in the corner with presents on. "Oh my stars, thank you!" I squealed running over and hugging them all one by one.
"There's more!" Kitty said passing me a blindfold, "go upstairs and get ready then come down and put this on," she grinned, and I nodded and went to get ready.

After I had sorted my outfit and put my hair into a low bun, I went downstairs. Before opening the living room door, I called Kitty and put on the blindfold. She took my hands and led me to the sofa, I could hear people shuffling around and I could hear a faint barking, "Ok, take the blindfold off," my mum said, and as I took it away I saw the most beautiful 'husky' puppy ever. "Oh My God, thank you! Thank you!" I squealed as I went over to the little pup.

He already had a collar but I don't think my parents realised the small tag attached to it, it was the same as my necklace, speaking of, I'm 18. I can connect it with the gem from the necklace I have been wearing since I was young.
