Chapter 24- Run; never look back

I smiled as I made my way towards the break room, where I knew I could find Epps. He was visiting the team again, and I loved being able to see him more. I may be happy and kept company by my fellow autobots, but it was nice to know I still had some normal friends, and Sam was always in the back of my mind. I wished the absolute best for the Witwickys, no matter how far away they were. Without them, I may have never gotten to where I had, without them I never would have been able to go undercover so close to the fight.

"Hey, Epps!" I waved as I wandered over towards the bench, but he instantly stood up, rushing towards me. "You need to go, Lex. Now." He whispered, placing his hands on my shoulders. I looked into his eyes and saw fear, more than I'd ever seen in the battlefield. "Epps? What's going on?" I asked, following his gaze as he looked at the doors.
"You need to get out of here, all of you. If you don't..."
"Epps, What will happen if we don't?"
"They might kill you. Go! Go now!" He shoved me towards the door, and tears formed in my eyes as the door at the other side opened up, and I ran.

The small group inside turned to watch as I transformed whilst I ran. "Autobots, roll out!" I ordered, leading the drive as soldiers began to close the doors. "Lexie, what's going on?" Ratchet's worried voice filled my ears, but I didn't reply, transforming to human again as I used my powers to keep the door separated for them to leave. When the rockets were fired after the team, they realised exactly what was going on.

Helicopter after helicopter shot at us, jets flew overhead, and I flew as fast as I could above them all, trying my hardest to keep a shield up, but there was a lot of firepower, and only one of me. "Little Prime, transform back right now! You're using all of your energy, it's too dangerous." Leadfoot's voice came next, but I refused to give in, using one last burst of energy to block an incoming rocket. But then I fell, and I knew it was useless trying to build it up more. My body wouldn't allow me to transform, my energy was gone, and I was sure this would be it as soon as I hit the ground. "Lexie!" That was until a familiar blue and red shape appeared underneath me, and I landed inside of Prime's truck form, just as we made it into the streets I saw a large explosion behind us. "Sideswipe!" I let out a loud scream, desperately tugging at the door, begging my dad to let me out, but he refused. In that moment, I regretted ever teaching them how to kill transformers.

Optimus was quick to send a distress signal to everybody who wasn't present, hoping he wasn't too late. "Calling all Autobots. We are under targeted attack. Cease all contact with humans."
"Dad! Why are they doing this to us? Why?" I began to cry as we all split, going for they can't catch us all, and preparing to meet up later on, under the cover of nightfall.

We were driving alone, and I watched as the helicopters split, chasing each car as best as they could. "Bee, where are you? Bee? Come in, Bee!" I desperately called into the comms for him, but there wasn't any response. "Bee! Has anyone got eyes on Bee?" When I got no response I slammed my fist into the dashboard in annoyance, letting out a loud, "Dammit!" A small irritated grunt came through the radio, and I took another breath, before sighing. "I'm sorry dad, I'm just so scared. I need to go find him."
"I understand, be careful, and stay human, you're more hidden that way." He warned, I nodded.
"I love you dad, stay safe." He slowed, pulling into an alley, and I jumped out, running into the crowd to hide. Seconds later, I glanced back, and he was gone.

"..lost eyes on many of the transformers, including the leader of the autobots, Optimus Prime, and his daughter, Lexie Prime. She can look human, and people are warned to avoid contact with this girl." My eyes drifted over to the to screen in the window, and I froze. My face was in the news, I was no longer safe. "If anyone has any information they are to call 911 immediately." With those words, I ran faster, following one of the strongest links I felt, to get to Bumblebee. Eyes turned on me, and I watched as multiple of them showed fear, fear of a girl who had helped save so many lives, their lives.
