Chapter 26-Their Return

It wasn't until the next morning that Optimus returned, Cade, Tessa and Shane had been looting, whereas I spent the night on the roof, keeping my eyes open for any attackers. "Alright, everybody in." I called, using the remaining power of the light to bring myself down, a ball of electricity taking over, before I reappeared beside them. "Whoah! Some warning next time?" Shane shouted, jumping back in shock.
"Right. Now get in."

Our first stop was a gas station to check if Cade's card still worked. Somehow, in mid battle, Cade had stolen a drone and re-wired it to work from his own controls. "This ain't easy." He sighed, focusing on the screen he'd made to move the drone. "You know you don't suck at everything, dad." Tessa reassured from the driver's seat. We watched as the card slipped in and out, being declined instantly, before he showed the message, 'We will find U!' Only seconds later, the police showed up, storming the area. "Right, time to move, get in." I ordered, watching Tessa move back so Cade and Shane could get in too, whilst I flew above him, a cloak making me appear invisible to everyone but my chosen few.

"Calling all autobots. Calling all autobots." As soon as Optimus let out the message, I grinned, knowing they were nearby, and that they had been waiting for this call. As we sped along, I spotted a white truck on the opposite side of the road. Optimus did too, scanning it and taking a new form. I watched as the rusted paint peeled away, and his blocky figure turned to match that of the newer truck. "Yes! Yes!" I let out a cheer, throwing my arms up as I looked down at him in all his glory.

As we reached the familiar mountains, I spotted Hound jumping along. "They're back! And he's alive! Optimus is here!" My smile grew wider as I watched the soldier raise his weapon, shooting into the air. Next I spotted Drift, doing the same thing as he nodded to me. "At last, she has hope after all."

Crosshairs was already there as we slowed down, and he punched the air. "Mr Leader of the Free Galaxy is back. I knew you'd make it. I never doubted." He stated, as Drift rolled up beside him, punching his arm, as we knew he had doubt when I first took charge. "We got your warning, we've been waiting under Lexie's orders." Drift spoke up, as Hound jumped to a ledge above us.
"Hell, yeah. Boom time. We got the gang back together." After he spoke, I heard another engine roaring. Cade stepped out, and I saw Bee come over the hill. Optimus and I both transformed together, and I ran to Bee, wrapping my arms around him tight as he opened up his, doing the same. Then we joined the group, his hand on my back the whole time.

"Humans have asked us to play by their rules. Well, the rules have just changed." Optimus spoke up, looking slowly around at us.
"Amen to that!" I cheered, finally happy to be back with him.
"Human beings, bunch of backstabbin' weasels." Hound complained, throwing down his guns.
"Hound, find your inner compass. Loyalty is but a flower in the winds of fear and temptation." Drift spoke up, his hands clasped together.
"What the hell are you saying?" Hound questioned.
"It's a haiku."
"Cut the crap before I drop a grenade down your throat." Hound snapped.
"Try it, you'll be dead." Drift argued, blade drawn.
"Oh, please pull it. Please do it." As Hound said this, Bee rolled his eyes beside me.
"You know what, it'll save us so much time." I gave his arm a disapproving tap.

"Well, raise your hand if you're thoroughly disenchanted with out little pleasant Earth vacation. So, who's the stowaways?" Crosshairs walked forwards, quickly drawing a gun to our newest friends.
"Hey, what's with the gun?" Cade asked, throwing his hands up. I marched forwards, ready to attempt to stop them again, but Optimus placed his hand on my shoulder, allowing me to relax for the first time in a while, as he stepped forwards. "Stop, Hound. Both of you. They've risked their lives for mine. We owe them." He informed, and I let out a sigh as they stopped. It was never that easy for me, especially because of my lack of height, or the fact I placed Bee in charge whilst I was gone, sometimes for months at a time.
