One Month Ago
America Schreave was walking down the halls when she overheard someone on the phone. She quickly hid when she realized it was her daughter, Eadlyn."Yes, everything's going fine here," Eadlyn said into the phone, a giddy smile on her face. "However, it is a bit dull without all of you obnoxious boys running around."
All you boys? Did that mean she was talking to one of the Selected? America leaned forward, wanting to hear more.
"Oh ha ha, very funny," she rolled her eyes. "What?! No! Of course I'm not . . . Okay, okay. I see your point . . . Will you be around anytime soon? I could use a friend right about now . . . Yes, I know you live all the way in Kent, but that doesn't mean you can't borrow one of my private jets . . . What do you mean, not everyone has a private jet in their back yard? I know plenty of people who do . . . Well there's me, my brother, my, uh . . . No, I guess you're right . . . Oh, okay. I'll talk to later then, right? . . . Okay, until then. Bye," Eadlyn hung up the phone and leaned against the wall. She sighed sadly before standing up straight and walking away.
Once she was out of sight, America stepped out of hiding.
"Who are you, mystery man?" She muttered, picking up the phone and pressing the redial button. She waited as it rang once, twice, three times.
Come on, please pick up, she thought, nervously bouncing on the heels of her feet. Finally, on the forth ring, someone picked up.
"Hello? Eadlyn?" the voice asked.
"Uh, no. This is her mother," America smiled, excited to learn who her daughter's mystery caller was.
"Oh! You're Majesty, I, uh, hi!" The boy paused. "How may I help you?"
"Yes, I was wondering which one you are," America said.
"Pardon?" The boy sounded flustered and confused.
"Well, I couldn't help but overhear you're conversation with my daughter. I'm assuming you're one of the Selected?"
"Actually, ma'am, I'm not," he said, a small hint of sadness hidden in his tone. "My name's Erik. I was Henri's translator."
America blinked in surprise. No wonder Eadlyn had been acting strange! The one person she had feelings for was the one person she couldn't have. She felt a small pain in her heart, remembering how close she'd been to not marrying her husband Maxon. She could only imagine the pain her daughter was going through.
"Ma'am?" Erik's voice brought America back to reality.
"Oh, yes, sorry about that," she apologized. "I need to ask you a huge favor, Erik."
"Anything for you, You're Majesty," he answered.
"I think you mean anything for Eadlyn," she corrected, smiling slyly to herself.

Now
"Eadlyn!" I exclaimed, quickly running to her side. She was lying on the floor, clearly unconscious. "Eadlyn, wake up. I'm here for you, you just have to wake up."I heard footsteps and quickly looked up. It was the King and Queen. They both got wide-eyed once they noticed their daughter lying on the floor.
