Eadlyn's POV
I got out of second period earlier than usual, so I was the first person to reach English class. Thankfully Miss Jenkins wasn't in the room yet, so I was able to text my boyfriend.

Erik.

I missed him so much. His smile, his laugh. Ugh, and his adorable blush. He was just so incredibly cute, like a fluffy marshmallow.

A marshmallow? Did I seriously just compare my boyfriend to a marshmallow?

I couldn't help but giggle at the image that made in my head. As I was in the middle of my giggle fit, I heard someone come up behind me. Quickly I spun around in my seat, expecting it to be Erik. My smile immediately faded when I saw who it was.

Kile Woodwork. Stupid, lying, cheating Kile.

"Hey Eady. Long time no see," he said, smirking down at me. I felt anger explode throughout my body. Did he really think he could just waltz up to me like nothing happened? Like he hadn't dumped me and treated me like trash for half a year?

By now the room was filling up with students. We weren't alone anymore. Good.

I was about to tell Kile to leave when suddenly he slipped into the seat next to mine. Erik's seat.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked, glaring at him.

"Uh, sitting down. What does it look like?" He said, still smirking like an idiot.

"Well, I'm saving that seat for someone. And that someone is not you," I stated angrily.

Kile shrugged and tried slinging his arm around me, but I pushed it off forcefully.

"Don't. Touch. Me," I hissed, hoping he would take a hint and back off. My hopes of Erik sitting next to me were slim at this point.

I let my eyes roam the large class, searching frantically for Erik. If he saw me with Kile, he might get the wrong idea. I was not about to let that happen. I finally spotted him, sitting a few rows behind me. He didn't notice me looking at him.

I stared at him for a while, trying to get his attention. Kile was still talking to me, but I blocked his voice out. Just when I thought Erik would notice me, Miss Jenkins walked into the room, demanding us to quiet down and pay attention. Aggravated, I huffed and turned to face the front of the class.

While Miss Jenkins was talking, Kile kept whispering into my ear. It was so annoying! Finally I turned to him and smiled sarcastically. "Can you please STOP?"

Kile shrugged and sat back in his seat, but not before I saw Erik rush up to the front of the room and grab a hall pass. Darn it! He must've seen Kile flirting with me.

Right when the door closed behind my boyfriend, I got up and walked to Miss Jenkins, hoping I looked calmer than I felt.

"Uh, excuse me," I smiled sweetly. "Could I please have a hall pass?"

Miss Jenkins shook her head. "Only one person at a time, dear."

"No, you don't understand," I lowered my voice a bit. "I've got cramps. Bad."

"Oh!" Miss Jenkins gave me an apologetic look. "In that case, here." She smiled and gave me a handwritten pass.

"Thank you so much," I grinned thankfully before striding out of the room. I rushed to the bathroom and got inside a stall. Whipping out my phone, I sent Erik a short message.

Me: Erik, we should talk. Meet me in the janitor's closet.

It seemed to take forever for him to respond, and when he did I checked his message as fast as I could.

Erik: Okay. I'll be there.

I put away my phone and ran out of the bathroom. I had to talk to Erik. Fast.

I easily found the closet. Everyone knew where it was, especially since it was the in-between-classes getaway. I opened the door and walked inside hesitantly, hoping I'd be alone. Thank goodness I was.

"Eady," I jumped when I heard a voice behind me.

"Erik?" I asked, feeling around for a light in the darkness. "That's you, right?"

I felt someone grab my hands. "Yeah, it's me."

It was hard to concentrate in such a small space, but I had to tell him. "Erik, what you saw back there? That wasn't me, I swear."

I could almost sense Erik smiling. "I believe you."

"Really?" I breathed, absolutely relieved. I hadn't known how anxious I actually was until that very moment.

Erik pulled me forward and wrapped his arms around me gently. "Of course I do," he paused and placed his hand over my cheek. "I love you."

I was too stunned to speak. I wanted to tell him that I loved him too. That I always had. That I always will. But I couldn't find my voice. Tears started forming in my eyes, and I silently cursed myself for not wearing waterproof mascara anymore.

"Eady?" Erik stroked my cheek gently with his thumb. I could feel his body tense up nervously, awaiting my answer.

"I-I," I gulped. "I don't know what to say."

I could feel Erik's breath across my lips. "Then don't say anything."

I smiled and kissed him tenderly on the lips, telling him how I felt without needing to speak. Everything I had ever felt was poured out in our kiss. My happiness while we danced, my sadness when he fled the class, my worry as I waited in the bathroom.

My love, as I stood in a small, dark closet and kissed the lips of a person I couldn't live without.

Erik pulled away first, like always. I wrapped my arms around his neck and nuzzled my face into his chest.

"I love you," I mumbled against his cotton t-shirt.

"Wha-what did you say?" Erik whispered, his heart beating faster than before.

Smiling, I felt my way towards his face. Once I found it, I pulled him into another kiss.

"I...love...you," I mumbled in between each kiss. I could feel Erik's lips turn up into a large grin.

Soon we left the closet, holding hands happily. When we got back to class, I could feel the stares of the other students. There were a few snickers and giggles around the room from people who thought we'd done more than just kiss. I ignored them, though.

I knew what really happened. And it was absolutely wonderful.
