A/N [old me]
So here's a sketch of the dress Eadlyn drew. I'm sure she's a way better drawer than me, but I thought an illustration would be kind of cool. I don't know. Maybe it's just me lol.

Eadlyn's POV
I smiled down at my freshly drawn dress. It was purple, with ruffles framing the hem. The skirt rested just above the model's knees, and the sleeves hung loosely on her bare shoulders. It was one of my prettiest day dresses, and I couldn't wait to wear it.

I flipped the page and found a brand new blank one, just begging me to lay my pencil on it. I looked up at the sky, hoping inspiration would magically appear from the deep blue beyond. Of course, the only thing magical about the air up above was the white wisps of cloud scattered about.

I sighed and lowered my gaze to the garden. There were so many flowers and trees, I was bound to find some inspiration somewhere. I pushed myself up from my comfy spot on the grass and began wandering around the large flower beds.

There were roses and carnations, violets and tulips. Rosemary, blue bells, sunflowers, and petunias. The list grew and grew in my mind, reminding me of the times I'd walked these same paths with my mother. She'd always be able to point out every flower we came across, no matter how long their names were.

Suddenly a slight bit of movement in the corner of my vision made me turn around. I hated when people saw any of my drawings, and I was afraid it'd be Josie. She would probably think of me as childish if she saw my notebook full of dresses. I tightened my hold on the collection of papers, just in case.

But as my eyes met with the intruder's, I felt my face instantly light up. It was that kind boy, Erik. Henri's translator.

He smiled at me from across the garden and waved. I waved my hand towards the area I was standing in, inviting him to come walk with me. I watched as he nodded and swiftly made his way over.

"And what might the princess be doing out here all by herself?" He asked once we were face to face.

"Oh nothing," I lied. "Just checking out the flowers. They're very beautiful this time of year, you know."

"Okay, sure," he said sarcastically, raising a single eyebrow. His gaze fell to my sketch book, which I held tightly against my side.

"What's this then?" He asked, reaching forward to grab it. Just as his fingers brushed the cover, I pulled away in haste.

"Nothing! It's nothing," I said, a bit flustered. I hated showing people my sketches! They were private and secret, something I was able to keep to myself without the whole country knowing about them. I was also a bit insecure about them, afraid they weren't elegant enough for the princess to be creating.

"Okay, I see how it is," he smiled suspiciously. "Keep your secrets."

We stood there for a few awkward seconds before I finally gave in. Why not show Erik my drawings? He was curious, and I had nothing to hide. They were only dresses, after all.

"Oh fine, I'll show you," I sighed. I noticed him trying to hide a smirk and that just made me roll my eyes.

"See, that wasn't too hard, was it?" He asked, giving me a mock pouty face.

"Stop it!" I tried to keep a straight face but failed. Who could stay mad at that adorable frown? "I could always take it back and go inside," I said seriously, taking a few steps toward the palace.
