Note:I'm so sorry it took so long! I actually had this chapter already written but it got deleted. I was so mad I had to take a break from this story, but I'm back and I'm going to finish this story if it's the last thing I do. It's not as good as the orginial one, but it'll have to do. Again I'm sorry!
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
I gulped nodding my head, I picked up the end of my dress my heels hitting the pavement.
"I'm sure."
Zoe nodded her head, following me into the gala. The gala was beautiful, high ceilings white gold chandeliers, I watched as people danced across the dance floor with such elegance.
I dropped the end of my dress letting it cover my heels. I didn’t have time to get a new dress so I stuck with the one I had originally planned on. The dress was gold with an opened back, it flowed down my figure perfectly flowing out at the ends.
I grabbed a glass of champagne making my way towards the bar.
“I didn’t expect to see you here.” I froze at the sound of his voice, it’s been so long since I’ve heard it.
“Well you see me.” I spoke taking a sip of my champagne.
“I see you stuck with the tie.” I said looking Monroe up and down from head to toe.
“It came with the suit.”
“Oh, I’m sure.” I mumbled.
“Chanel, darling! you made it.” I turned around putting on my best smile for Monroe’s parents.
“I did, thank you for inviting me it’s beautiful.”
“Desmond, this is Chanel! Monroe’s girlfriend.” My eyes widened but I quickly covered it up with a smile.
“Please to meet you, Mr. Taylor.”
“Please call me Desmond, what a lovely lady you have here. You’re a lucky man Roe.”
“Oh please. I’m the lucky one.” I said smiling up at Monroe.
I watched as Monroe’s parents danced across the floor, what a beautiful couple.
“”You’re a dirty bastard you know that?” I said finishing off my glass laughing.
“That’s truly pathetic you can’t even tell your parents we broke up.”
“I didn’t have the chance to tell them, my father was so excited to meet you and my mother actually likes you Chanel.”
“You knew I was going to come didn’t you? you thought you could play this off? what makes you think I won’t go up to them right now and tell them we’re no longer together?”
“Because that’s not who you are Chanel.”
“You don’t know me Monroe.”
“That’s a line of bullshit.”
“Excuse me.” I said walking past Monroe, I couldn’t stay here and pretend everything was okay, nothing was okay. Monroe grabbed my arm turning me towards him.
“Let me go Monroe.”
“Dance with me.”
“No.”
“Please.”
“No, now let go of me.”
“One dance, and I’ll leave you alone.”
I stared at Monroe, this is so typical of Monroe.
“I’m begging you Chay, please.”
Monroe pulled me towards the dance floor wrapping his arms around his waist, my hands instantly wrapped around his neck, we swayed across the dance floor, Monroe’s face was awfully close to mine making my heart rate increase, I gulped looking down at mine and Monroe’s shoes. Memories came rushing back to me, from the day I met Monroe from the night in Paris.. flashbacks of Paris hit me like a tidal wave the ball, the night we spent together every single moment came back to me, and it hurt.. it hurt bad. Monroe dipped me causing me to gasp, I stared into those exotic eyes of his and I felt myself getting lost all over again. Monroe lifted me up not taking his eyes off of me, I snapped back to reality pulling myself away. I didn’t give Monroe a second glance as I ran up the stairs towards the balcony, I pushed open the doors the breeze hitting my face, I wiped away my tears leaning against the railing.
“Chanel.”
“What do you want Monroe.” I said wiping my tears with the back of my hand.
I heard Monroe’s footsteps.
“Just go away.”
“Chanel, I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done that.”
“Yeah, well you did.”
Monroe stepped closer to me, “Please just go Monroe, stop acting like you care.”
“You think I don’t care?”
“I know you don’t, this was all a game to you too.”
“Chanel, I care so much about you it hurts, I miss you. I miss seeing you everyday, I miss your laugh, I miss your smile, I miss everything about you.”
“Stop Monroe, Just stop.”
“No hear me out.” Monroe said raising his voice.
I sniffled wiping away my tears.
“You hurt me Chanel.”
“I know.” I mumbled.
“I can’t stand here and tell you I’m over you because I’m not, I should hate you but I don’t as much as I tried to I can’t bring myself to hate you.” Monroe said closing the space between us.
“I’m sorry.” I croaked.
Monroe’s fingers wiped away my tears, he lifted my chin with his fingers so I was looking at him.
“I fell for you hard Chanel.”
“Monroe, stop-”
“I fucking fell in love with you!”
“what?”
“I fucking love you Chanel!”
“I love you so much hurts.”
I stared at Monroe, his words burning into my mind making a permanent place for itself.
“Tell me you feel the same way, tell me everything is going to be okay.” Monroe pleaded, looking into my eyes searching for the answer.
“It’s not Monroe, it’s not going to be okay.”
I wanted to tell Monroe I loved him just as much, hell I wanted to scream it from the rooftop, but I couldn’t, Monroe deserved better, he deserves a girl who’s going to be real with him from the start, someone who can be there for him like I could never be.
Monroe dropped his hand from face, leaving me standing outside alone.
