“Wait, so you’re telling me Monroe asked you to be his girlfriend?”
“Sounds about right.”
“In ihop though? that’s kind of sad.” Zoe said frowning.
“It doesn’t matter, it’s not like we’re really dating.”
“Well to Monroe it is a real relationship.”
“True.”
“But to me it’s not so I don’t really care.” I said shrugging my shoulders taking a bite out of my sandwich.
“Well anyways, this is perfect!” Adrian said smiling at me.
“I guess.”
“I’ll catch up with you guys later, Mr. Briggs wanted to meet with me before class starts.”
I said getting up throwing my trash away.
I didn’t have anywhere to be, but I really didn’t want to sit there and listen to Adrian and Zoe about this plan, the deeper I get the harder it gets.
I sighed making my way down the hallway, I just wanted this day to be over with.
I wanted to get this assignment over with, I wanted this plan to be over with, I wanted this school year to be over with.
This is not how I wanted my senior year to go, my last year of high school.
I sunk down to the floor, lifting my knees to my chest.
“What are you doing out here Princess?” I knew that voice, the only guy I know that calls me princess.. Monroe.
I lifted my head up giving Monroe the perfect fake smile, I’ve grown to master.
“I’ve got a headache.” Not a good lie, and Monroe didn’t believe me, he sat down next to me, taking my hand in his.
“How about you stop lying to me, and tell me what’s really wrong?”
How could I tell Monroe that I’m playing him? that this is all fake.
I didn’t want to go through with it anymore, I just wanted to go back to my old life, that consisted of netflix and cuddling with my puppy.
“I’m just worried that’s all.”
“What about?” Monroe started rubbing his thumb in circular motion on my hand, instantly calming my nerves.
I sighed placing my head on Monroe’s shoulder not taking my eyes off of my converse.
“I’ve never actually been the talk of school, not counting the time I made out with you drunk, punched you in the face and saved you from getting your ass kicked.” I said smiling up at him.
Monroe chuckled kissing the side of my head.
It almost felt like we were in an actual relationship and this was all real.
part of me wished it was real.
“Chanel, no matter what anyone says, it’s just you and I, and I don’t care what people say. This is what I want.. is this what you want?” Monroe said looking down at me.
Would it be wrong if I told Monroe this isn’t what I wanted? none of this is what I wanted.
Would Adrian and Zoe hate me if I told Monroe the truth?
Would Monroe hate me? after a short period of time Monroe has grown on me, and became part of my life, a friend even.
“Of course this is what I want.” Monroe smiled, pecking my lips lightly.
“Come on Princess, we don’t want to be late for class.” Monroe said grabbing my hand helping me off of the floor.
My life consists of lies, I’m starting to think I’m a big fat liar.
wait isn’t that a movie too? great my life is officially a movie.
