Allison POV
It was almost 20 minutes later by the time Josh, Lilly and I were all back in my little Subaru. Josh and I sat in the front with the windows down as to try and lessen the smells coming off of Lilly. She was mostly passed out.
"I guess I'll have to bring her home since she obviously won't be driving," I said in annoyance, still grumpy I agreed to be here.
"Let's bring her home first so I can help you get her inside," Josh said with an encouraging smile.
"No, Josh, you've done enough just helping me get her in the car, I'll bring you home first," I added quickly, not wanting him to feel trapped.
"Nonsense. You'll just owe me some time." He said with a confident smile.
I started the car and drove off towards what I remember to be Lilly's street. I'd only been there once before and that was in broad daylight. Josh fiddled with the radio as I drove up and down back roads.
About 40 minutes later we finally had Lilly in her house and in bed. Both Josh and I sank back into the car with a hard sigh.
"Good job being a good friend!" Josh said very optimistically holding his hand out for a high five. I slapped his hand and started the car once more.
"Thank you so much, Josh. I would never have been able to get her inside."
"Anytime," he said as he explained how to get to his house. The trip there was short and peaceful without Lilly insisted we pull over so she could throw up every few feet. When I pulled up to his house he unbuckled his seatbelt and waited for a minute.
"I'm glad you were there, Ally." Josh said looking intently at me with a grin, "and thanks for the ride." I nodded smally.
"Are we still on for coffee on Monday?" I asked shyly, trying to let him have a way out if he was sick of me.
"Of course! I'll see you at 3, Ally" He said flashing me one last smile the turn towards his house. I had to wait in the driveway for a minute just to let the night sink in. Then I was once again starting my car and driving off.

The rest of the weekend was boring.
