TWENTY THREE

Josh POV

"Won't you go to someone else's dreams                                                                                                       Won't you go to someone else's head ?                                                                                                           Haven't you taken enough from me?                                                                                                                 Won't you torture someone else's sleep?"

Tyler gently sang as we walked down the hall together to go get breakfast. Mark was still sleeping. Ally was going to shower and catch up with us, which I didn't like. Now more than ever I wanted to be right next to her.

I love to be around Tyler, he didn't ask questions or try and understand, but he was always ready to talk if I needed.

"What did you and Ally talk about?" I asked, not making eye contact.

"Just about the dream she had, and I told her she could talk to me if she ever needed to," Tyler said looking at me.

I nodded, "Did I come up at all?"

Tyler paused, "You know that isn't my placed to talk about, Josh. You need to talk to her about that."

I nodded again. A few more seconds passed before I said what I really wanted to say, "I went to hug her, when she first woke up, and she flinched and ran. Like I was going to hurt her. I would never do that." I held back tears,"She just looked so terrified and I didn't know what to do."

"I know, Josh. And I know you would never hurt her, but she was just waking up and the lines got blurred. You can't blame her for that, okay?" Tyler answered as we approached the large open room where there was a continental breakfast being served.

"I know. I'll make a point to talk to her mor bout it soon." I answered. Tyler just nodded and walked off towards the breakfast cereal.

I pulled out my phone to text Ally: Breakfast looks incredible! <3

She responded several minutes later as I was sitting down with a plate piled high with fruit, pancakes and doughnuts.

Ally: Just out of the shower, save Mark and I seats.

45 minutes later everyone had finished eating and Mark, Tyler and Allison were in a heated debate over who would win in a fight, a grilled cheese or a taco. Allison looked so happy. She could barely control how much she was laughing. I loved to see her like this but I also know how much pain she is and has been hiding since the first day I meet her. And thinking of that made me feel sick.

"Josh, what do you think?" Mark asked.

"Oh, um. In a fair fight, the grilled cheese. But the taco wins if its prison rules." I answered. Allison threw her head back and laughed at me.

"Little racist, but accurate," Tyler answered nodding his head. "I guess that settles that. Let's go plan our week, yeah?"

Ally, Mark and I all groaned at the same time as we got up.

"Oh shut up," Tyler said, obviously upset that we weren't as in to planning as he is.

Allison POV

After two hours of planning, our schedule looked like this:

Today was Sunday: Show at the Third Rail Coffee at 7:30

Monday: Show at Angels Share, a bar at 10

Tuesday: The local art festival at 5

Wednesday: The college show in some frat house, starts whenever we show up

Thursday: a glorious day off

Friday: last bar show at the Clover Club starting at 7.

It stressed everyone to think about how exhausted we would be. But we were all excited.

"I'm gonna shower," Tyler said heading towards the bathroom.

"I'm gonna nap," Mark said through a loud yawn.

I was sitting cross legged on Josh and I's bed with my eyes closed. I felt Josh's strong arm wrap around me.

"Hey Ally?" Josh asked quietly.

"Hm?" I opened my eyes just barely.

"Are you okay?" He looked at me deeply.

I sighed, grabbed his hand and answered, "Yes, Josh. Right now I am wonderfully okay." He smiled largely at me.

"Want to go exploring?" I said.

"Do you even have to ask?" He said jumping to his feet.

I yawned and gathered my things together. Both Josh and I were tying our shoes when Tyler came out of the bathroom from his shower.

"Oo are you going somewhere? Can I come too?" He asked.

Josh and I exchanged awkward glances.

"Uh, Allison and I are gonna do couples things, Tyler..." Josh said still tying his shoe.

"Oh. I guess I'll just stay here with Mark then..."

"Yeah sounds great bye," I said quickly before Josh could change his mind and let him come. I grabbed my small backpack, phone and Josh's hand and lept for the door.
