I woke up to my maids bustling about. Sarah was putting the things Charlotte brought her into suitcases. I stretched, yawned, and got out of bed, "Good morning ladies. Where am I going?"
Sarah looked up, "You are going to Princess Claire's for a royal party, and then you are to attend a ball at the kingdom of Rosene in Norway. There you will meet King Christophe and Queen Tiana. They are King Vance's great grandparents. They are eager to meet the new member of the family. Finally, you are to come back here, and have dinner with King Vance, Princes Jasper and Mason, and King Vance's parents. I'm sure you know King Dominique and Queen Natalie. I know this seems like a lot to do, but that is why we have magic. We will transport to every location. Charlotte will be with you again, and she will make sure you are properly dressed before you leave each palace." She went right back to work, and Charlotte took my hand. She led me to the bathroom and was about to start a bath, but I stopped her.
"Do you think I could take a shower today? I am not in a bath mood." She nodded, and started the shower. She left the bathroom then, and I got into the shower. I spent most of my time thinking about the "trip" I had last night. I had always felt a little nervous around Aunt Amy, but I never suspected she was evil. I guess that explained why she was shunned by our family. Also, I am so confused about the prophecy. How in the world am I going to overthrow the King when I couldn't even figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up? I mean I am only a teenager! I should be worrying about college, and who I will go to prom with. I should not have to worry about either overthrowing the royal family, or ignoring it altogether. I wish I could just forget about it, but I didn't want to let Princess Veronica down. I told her I would make her proud even though I don't know how.
"My Lady are you ready?" I heard Charlotte ask.
"Yes one minute." I quickly washed the soap off my body, and shut off the shower. Charlotte handed me a towel. I wrapped it around myself, and stepped out. She was holding a robe open when I stepped out, and I did my best not to show anything as I slipped into it. After the robe was on we walked to my closet, and into the changing room. Hanging there was an outfit I did not expect to see. The dress was a cream colored floor length dress. That was literally all it was. The sleeves were long, and everything clung in all the right places. There was no fancy neckline, or sparkly belt at my waist. I shrugged my shoulders, and pulled the dress over my head. It looked a lot better than I thought it would. When I walked out of the dressing room Charlotte had a small diamond necklace, and matching earrings waiting for me. The necklace was just an inch thick, and it was made purely of diamonds. The earrings were a strand of three diamonds that looked exactly like the necklace. The shoes were the same color as the dress with small diamonds lining the rim near my ankle. Charlotte led me back into the bathroom, and as we crossed my bedroom I didn't see Sarah or the luggage.
Charlotte curled my hair, and placed a small silver tiara on my head. It was nothing like the one I received last night. It had the same pattern, but no gems or jewels. She only put mascara on me, and then sprayed a perfume that smelled like an ocean breeze.
"Charlotte not that I don't love the outfit, but why is it so simple?" I asked after she put on the finishing touches.
"Princess Claire's party is a causal occasion. This ensemble is considered casual in the royal life." She smiled at me, and led me into my room. Sarah was sitting in one of the chairs in my sitting area with her arm over her eyes. She lifted it when she heard us approach, and sat up a little straighter.
"My Lady you look radiant. Charlotte will take you to the lobby. That is where you will be transported to the lobby of Princess Claire's palace." She started to get up, but I stopped her.
