"My dear, sweet Sylvia it is so nice to finally meet you. I am your new great grandmother, Tiana. This is my husband Christophe. Welcome to the family" She then embraced me with a huge, warm hug. She reminded me of any other grandmother, sweet, compassionate, and her voice was warm and soothing. However, I saw a slight suspicion in her eyes. Does she know I am supposed to overthrow her family? Does she know that I know? How much does she know? Her parents were the ones that started this whole thing. Surely she knows about the prophecy.
"It is delightful to meet you to Your Highness." I gave her a huge smile. She seemed nice, but I knew I'd have to keep my eye on her just in case.
"Sweetheart please just call me Tiana. Not even the people of my kingdom call me anything different. It makes me feel old." She laughed, and it felt comforting.
Suddenly, King Christophe cleared his throat, and walked towards us, "Hello my child. I have been aching to see you since I heard of the engagement." He gave me a small smile, and hugged me lightly. There was something in his voice that told me he didn't believe me.
"I as well have been looking forward to this meeting." Did that sound mature? I don't know all I do know is that this was weird, and I am trying not to sound nervous. I don't want them to know that I know of the prophecy.
"It is great to see you dear great-great grandma and you to sir." Jasper stood behind me with a fake looking smile on his face.
"Jasper." That was the only thing that the King said before he walked away. He looked about as happy as Jasper did. I wonder what made they hate each other so much?
"Don't mind his sweetheart. He's just in a silly little mood. My dear how you have grown this last year! I barley recognized you." Tiana gave Jasper a hug similar to the one I received. I decided on the spot that I liked her. Hopefully she was one of the people I could trust.
Jasper and I walked over to the right set of stairs. A man stood there, and Jasper whispered something in his ear. Suddenly, the man spoke in a deep voice that seemed to carry to every corner of the room, "There royal Highnesses Prince Jasper and Princess Sylvia of Enchantment." Every head in the room turned their way. We started walking down the steps when I saw Annabella at the front of the group wearing a lilac gown. It went to the floor, and her left side was what looked like a 6 inch strip if small diamonds that went to her knee then the dress split so the side of her leg showed. It was a strapless dress, and hugged her body perfectly. Her black hair was pulled halfback with a silver clip. She wore simple makeup of black eyeliner under and above her eyes and what seemed to be mascara with a lilac tint in it. She smiled at me, and started to walk towards us.
"Sylvia how are you? I haven't seen you in well a few hours ago." We laughed, hugged, and then she turned to Jasper, "It is nice to see you Jasper. How are you?" There was a strain in her voice like she was forcing herself to speak to him.
"I am doing amazing Princess Annabella. I see you have met my fiancé. Don't listen to a word she says dear she isn't as truthful as you think." He tried to sound like he was joking, but I could tell he was hinting at something.
"Very funny Jasper, you used to tell everyone that when we were little." Annabella gave him a fake smile, and turned to me, "You simply must meet some of the people that are here. They are fantastic." She linked her arm with mine, and dragged me away. Doing this caused me to loose Jasper. She then dragged me through a door, and into the bathroom. I looked at her with a questioning look.
"I'm sorry, but I simply had to talk to you. One, you have to know that Jasper was lying when he said that I'm not truthful. I have never lied in my life. Two, there is something you need to see, but I'm going to have to cast a spell first. Are you ok with that?" Annabella asked. I nodded, and she gave me a small smile. Then, she closed her eyes, and I felt a cold rush of air. I felt light weighted, and everything went blurry for a few seconds. Suddenly, everything stopped. I looked around, and I was wondering what exactly she did. She dragged me to the door, and we walked right through it!
