Seventh period is my study hall for the day. I had the same study hall last year. Mrs. Calvin teaches that class too. She doesn't care if we leave the school, but we have to be back before class is over. I usually go help Madame with something's she needs to take care of. As soon as Mrs. Calvin dismisses us I head towards her room.

When I get there she is not there. I decide to check the auditorium. As I am walking down the hall I find Mackenzie on the phone by her locker. I jump behind an open door to an empty classroom.

"Dad I don't understand. What do you mean you're getting married? You have only been dating this chick for five months. Ok I get it you love her, but why so early. How much do you really know about her? I don't want to be a bridesmaid! I don't even like the bride!" She hangs up her phone, and leans against her locker. I saw tears stream down her face.

I came out of my hiding spot, and slowly walk towards her. She looked in my direction, and her eyes widened when she saw me.

"How much did you hear?" She asked in between hiccups.

"From "dad I don't understand"." I walked next to her, and put my hand on her shoulder.

"Well you might as well forget you ever heard me because there is nothing you can do to help me." She turned away, and started to rummage through her locker.

"Actually I might be able to help out just a little bit," I gave her a sympathetic smile, "I lost my dad a year ago. I know what it is like to lose a dad. It might not be the same considering yours is still alive, but you are losing a dad too. It might be worse because you know that he is marring someone else. Now, you know that there is someone who understands you. Who understands what you must feel. I'll help you if you want, and I will be there for you if you need me. Even if you just blow me off, I will still be here to help you because I am not the type of person to turn away from someone in need."

Mackenzie just stood there staring at the floor for a few minutes after I have finished. Then, with no warning she slammed her locker door, and walked away.

"Never mention this to anyone, and never remind me of it. I don't want nor do I need your help so just go away!" She stormed down the hallway, and went right out the door of the school.

I sighed, and continued walking toward the auditorium. When I got there I saw Madame standing on the stage looking out at the rows of seats. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She pressed a button on a remote, and music poured out of the speakers. I recognized it immediately. It was the opening song for Cinderella. I smiled, and sat down in the nearest seat to watch. When she started singing my smile only got bigger. Her voice is amazing. She sang pure and strong. She could draw a crowd into a song in an instant. She is the kind of singer you would belong on Broadway not in a high school auditorium. When she finished singing I started to clap loud enough that it probably sounded like it was a packed auditorium.

Madame jumped when she heard me, "Sylvia when did you get here?" She started to blush all the way to her forehead.

"I got here before you started to sing with the best voice I have ever heard! Madame why didn't you ever tell anyone that you could sing like that?"

Madame sighed, and motioned for me to come up onto the stage. I walked up the steps, and stood next to her. She pointed out to the seats, "Imagine all of those seats filled up, and then multiply that by ten. That is how pact my college's auditorium was. I was playing Rapunzel, and I started to sing, but then I started coughing and passed out. I woke up in the school nurse, and there was puke all over my costume. Apparently I had puked before I passed out. It was the main reason I never tried to go onto Broadway. Someone put it on the internet, and I saw one of the people in charge of auditions for Broadway at a market. She asked me if I was The Puking Rapunzel. I was so embarrassed, and I could never go back there. That one moment I swore that I would never do a fairy tale again," She smiled at me, "Well now I think that it is time to come out of my shell, and do what the kids want to do. I am thankful that you gave me this opportunity."
