After what seemed like an eternity we finally made it to the hospital. I parked behind the ambulance just to be told I couldn't park there and almost hit the parking attendant whipping into the lot, by then they had already taken him inside. I ran to the doors and was stopped by an older woman behind the desk who made me sign in as a visitor as if I had the time. I asked her where they took my Alek.

After I fell I couldn't see, hear, feel, or smell anything. Everything went dark, I tried to stand but I couldn't tell if I had or if I was still down. I was just in a void, is this what death was like? Am I dead? It felt like a long time had passed but I had no basis for the judgment, when I felt something staring at me. I tried to look around but all I could see, if you could call it that, was darkness. However, I was certain that I wasn't alone. I heard a growl from behind me, something was pissed. I heard metal being slammed against something large, another growl then the sound of scraping. I tried to find it and finally I saw a large cage, it wasn't there before. In the void it was just me, the cage, and whatever was inside. Two red eyes were glaring at me from within the depths of the cage then a mouthful of sharp teeth.

I walked towards the cage, the beast inside glared at me but it had stopped jumping at the cage's door. I looked and saw a padlock, unlocked but still through the loop effectively serving it's purpose. The creature looked at me warily, and gently pressed it's nose against the door parallel to the lock. It's nose looked like a large dog's and I reached through and carefully stroked the fur above it's nose. The fur felt course, I assumed it's entire body was black since I couldn't see it in the void. It whimpered and I felt sorry for the poor thing, it'd been in the void, who knows how long. I'd only been here for a short while and was already feeling crazy because the lack of everything. I removed the padlock and opened the door. I felt it's mass walk past me, stretching out and shaking like a dog drenched in water. I moved towards it and started petting it, it flopped over and I started rubing it's tummy. I assumed it had to be a dog, what other animal loves tummy rubs? I saw its eyes looking at me and in a flash it bit my hand. It didn't hurt as I expected it would, blood started flowing out of the wounds. I raised my hand up and the blood flowed down in weird patterns and shapes covering my arm and disappearing under my shirt.

The beast watched, then retreated to its cage. The door remained open.

The woman wouldn't tell me anything, nothing newsworthy had come to her. They hadn't even told her where they were holding him yet. A man with green hair walked in, his hair reminding me of seaweed, he checked in and sat a few seats away from me in front of the television. I watched him for a moment because he was attractive with ocean blue eyes, the only thing ruining it was his hair. That's when he turned to me, his eyes piercing into mine, taking my breath away. His lips parted and he spoke softly, his voice comforting and slightly arousing.

"Why are you here little one? Wouldn't you rather come with me instead of sitting in that shabby little chair waiting of your dying mate?" Dying mate? What mate, I'm here alone, actually, why am I here again? I don't know. I want this man though, green hair or not.

The old woman from the front called me over and I couldn't help feel a slight dampness between my legs, I need that man now.

"Annabella I've got word, Aleksandr is currently in Recovery on the second floor, room 207." Aleksandr? ALEKSANDR! How could I have forgotten about him!? I sprinted from the lobby, completely forgetting about the green-haired man, and made it to room 207. Everything was quiet in the room except the television, but I tuned it out when I saw my Aleksandr on the bed. I sat in the little chair next to him and cupped his face, he looked so tired and drained. There was a little chart next to him, saying all the medical crap they'd done to fix him. I read it over quickly, something about a heart attack or a stroke, or both for all I knew.

He stirred slightly causing me to jump, his hands turned to fists and his veins bulged like a wrestler's. He snarled and his started baring his teeth at something. His eyes were still closed, I hit the button for someone to come in, I glanced at the door and saw a flash of green, then the nurse came in.

She looked tired, but the smile on her face and the way her hair looked you could tell she had just had a great time. She hurriedly tried to fix herself up a bit but it really didn't help much. Her lips parted and a whip of something slipped out and floated up like smoke, she walked over to my Aleksandr. He had calmed down now but occasionally his veins would twitch again. The nurse looked at him with a look of disgust that she tried to hide under a fake smile.

"If there's a problem with him you'd better tell me." I say, I've had enough shit to deal with to be polite today.

"He told me about you, he told me everything about his world." She looked down in total disgust and hatred now.

"It's sick, turning your back from God just because you want to do magic tricks or whatever. Worshipping Satan and summoning ghosts. I don't know why we even had to try to save him." She looked down at him in contempt, and I snapped. Before I knew what I was doing I was flying through the air, hands going for the bitches throat.

"YOU'RE A FUCKING NURSE YOU TAKE CARE OF THOSE IN NEED." I caught her and we both went to the ground. We went on for a few minutes, me trying to strangle her and her doing the same to me. The door clicks shut making us both look up, it's the green haired man from earlier.

"Now if I had known this would be happening I would've gotten a camera." He purrs and I practically jump off the nurse, but not before kicking her a little.

"What do you want?" I feel myself getting defensive, he's my Aleksandr and they needed to piss off and get out of here. I can't stand narrow minded people like them. Believing in a stereotype about pagans when they don't even try to get to know us.

"I am on a mission, my mistress ordered me to finish him off and take you, one way or another." He took a few steps towards the downed woman and picked her up as if she were nothing and her body just vanished into a puff of smoke, which he inhaled.

He shivered in pleasure. Aleksandr stirred a little but my eyes were focused on the thing in front of me. It's hair changed from the green to looking more like kelp or seaweed, it's body becoming even more alluring, it's eyes turned a deep violet.

"You want me, let us retire and after I use you I'll absorb you as well kitten." I felt my legs obeying without me telling them to, I fought against it but they kept brining me towards him. I heard the bed creak but I couldn't look away from the creature in front of me.

The creature's eyes widened in terror and I felt back in control of my body. The thing bolted down the hallway with only a puff of smoke behind to mark where it went. I turned and saw my Aleksandr, sitting up in the bed looking confused. His face scrunched and turned red for a second the way it does when he's concentrating on a difficult math problem.

"Princess I can't hear your thoughts. What are you thinking?" His voice sounds hoarse and uncomfortable. I just rushed him and clung to him, breathing in his scent and feeling him breath again.

"I'm thinking what I always am, about how much I love you." I cuddled into him, burrowing my head into the crook of his neck. He sighed and laid us back down and started rubbing my back, we were almost asleep when we got the phone call.

"Are you two alright? Mom came back and uhh..." He trails off for a moment, "But she was saying some crazy shit about you two being dead and killed."

"No we're fine, what did your mom say?"
"Just some weird stuff... I'm going to go check on Samuel he hasn't been answering..."
The line goes dead.

I look at Aleksandr, he still looks troubled but wraps his arms around me, feeling protected we both quickly fall asleep.
