I found myself seated in the lobby of some hotel that I have yet to know the name of. I'm having a meeting here before I head back to Atlanta but they're running a little late. They're still handling the set-up in the room we're using but they said we should be in there before 9:30 which is fine by me. I'm sitting by myself, drinking Starbucks. I haven't eaten breakfast and I honestly don't want to even though there is an empty feeling in my stomach. Tour starts week after next and I guess I'm ready. Well, I'm ready physically but not mentally. My mind is all over the place but I have to do my best.

That reminds me, I still have to call Jacquees and ask if he can bring the kids to see my show on the twins' birthday. I doubt that this will go well but I hope for the twins' sake, he says yes. Pulling my phone out of my bag, I dialed the house number. As it was ringing, I remembered that he doesn't wake up early on Saturdays but just as I was about to hang up, he answered, "Hello?" I responded, "Good morning, Jacquees." Not really a good morning but I'm just trying to be mannerly. "LaToya?" With a deep breath, I answered, "Yes, it's me. Sorry if I woke you." His tone was clipped, "You did but that's fine. What do you want?" Yes, this is going to take a turn for the worse in the matter of minutes. "Well.. my opening show is on the twins' birthday in Jersey—" he cut me off.

"Yeah, I know. They told me how you invited them to come see your show on their birthday. We have plans with Cheyenne and her family so they can't go. Is that all?" I squinted my eyes, "Were they happy about the decision you made?" He groaned, "No, of course they weren't. They're not even interested in getting to know her and you know that. But.. she's my girl and I think this would be a great opportunity for us to get to know her family better." Sighing, "Jacquees, have you booked anything? Can't you just make something work so they could come see the show?" He grew frustrated, "Look, I'm not having a debate with you over this. They're not going. You can send them gifts or something and work it out. We are not going to be in the state for their birthday, we're going to be in Vegas. Good bye." With that, he hung up.

Sighing, I stuffed my phone back into my bag and sat there disappointed. I thought it would be great if I could see them on their birthday. I'm barely around and that would've meant the world to them but Jacquees has full custody of them so I can't even argue. My bodyguard informed me that we could head up to the boardroom so I followed him up there. During the elevator ride, I began to think of what I should get them for their birthday. I don't even know what they want and if I ask, they'd automatically know that I'm getting it for their birthday. I'd come up with something, I thought as I stepped off of the elevator and proceeded down the hall. Inside the boardroom sat everyone who were managing different aspects of the tour.

The meeting lasted for an hour and I honestly can't remember anything from it. I have a headache and all I want to do is go back to Atlanta. My flight is in the morning. Standing to my feet, I dismissed everyone with a fake smile so no one would question me. Stephanie, my publicist, walked over to me with a notepad. "What's good, Steph?" I asked, throwing my bag over my shoulder. My eyes scanned my breakfast that I didn't even bother to eat. "The public eye is losing sight of you besides paparazzi photos. What's going on?" Sighing, I responded, gesturing towards the door, "Walk with me." She nodded and my bodyguard opened the door for us, "I've been preparing for tour. That's all there is to it. Also, I do have a life outside of the public eye." She was writing everything down as we stepped onto the elevator before she looked at me with a bright smile, "Thanks." I responded, "You're welcome."
