Chapter 54: You Promised Me

~Brendon's POV~

   "Brendon! I'm sorry I'm calling so early, but it's Addilyn! Meet us at the hospital," yelled Angelica on the phone.

   "I'm on my way!" I quickly grab on a sweatshirt and put on some shoes and head out. I don't even give a fuck what I look like. People kept texting me from left and right, but I just ignored them. I need to get to Addy! Quickly, I parked my car and ran inside. "What room is Addilyn Rose in?"

   "Hmm, let me see." This lady was taking forever and I had no patience.

   "Listen lady! My love is-"

   "Brendon, down here," yelled Addilyn's mom down the hall.

   "Thanks for your fucking help." The girl rolled her eyes at me and I ran down the hallway. "How bad is it?"

   "Really bad." I hugged Angelica and gave her a kiss on the cheek. As I opened the door, everyone was there. Literally. Dallon, Breezy, the kids, Kenny, and Dan. They all look at me sympathetically. I could tell the kids and Breezy were crying. Then, there she was Addilyn. I pulled up a chair next to her and put my hand on her face, "Oh, Addilyn. My poor baby." I took her soft hand into mine.

   "Is she going to be okay," asked Amelie, climbing onto my lap.

   "Yeah, yeah, she's going to be okay." My eyes were starting to water.

   "You're hairs messy." Amelie ruffled my hair and I chuckled. She hopped off my lap and ran to her mother. I just kept staring at her beautiful face.

   "You look like a sleeping angel," I whispered to her. I felt stares from everyone in the room.

   "And you need to brush your hair." I looked up to see Addilyn staring at me.

   "Addilyn! You're okay!"

   "Wow the whole crew is here." Everyone said their hellos.

   "Addy," exclaimed Breezy and she hugged Addilyn. Addilyn turned to look at me and I noticed the cut on her face.

   "What did this to you?"

   "A lamp."

   "What?" Suddenly, Addilyn was just staring at me with fear in her eyes. "Addy, what's wrong? Say something to me." She continued to look at me and started to breathe fast. "Someone get the-" Before, I could say anything Addilyn screamed and held her head.

   "What's the problem?" Doctor Kathleen rushed into the room. "She has a high fever. Someone get the nurses, please." Kenny ran out the door and held onto Add's hand tightly. Nurses came rushing into the room and Addy had her eyes closed.

   "What happened to her?!"

   "The fever must have knocked her out. Meds we need medicine!" Right as one of the nurses went to get medicine, the heart rate monitor was beeping really fast. "Just a seizure." Doctor held Addilyn down, "Addilyn, listen to me calm down. Calm down." The beeping got slower, which was a good thing. I was playing with my ring on her finger while running my fingers through my hair.

   "Brendon, now you need to calm down."

   "Calm down, Dallon? Calm down!"

   "Let me take the kids out," said Dan. Right as he said that, I heard very little beeping.

   "I need the cardiac defibrillators! Her vital signs are weak!" The nurses hurriedly ran out and back into the room, handing them to Doctor Kathleen. "One! Two! Three!" They shocked her.

   "Come on Addilyn, honey, you got this!"

   "One! Two! Three!"

   "You got this baby!"

   "One-" All of a sudden, the room got silent. I felt so dizzy. Cries were heard throughout the room.

   "Addy, don't die you promised me! You promised me!"

   The heart rate monitor was silent and only a straight green line was displayed on the screen.
