Two chapters in one day? How do you guys like me even though I probably killed your happiness of Riker and Ariana together.
"It's officially over then?"Lea asked as her and Ariana looked at the divorce papers Riker had finally sighed after two weeks.
Ariana nodded "I think we've been over but, we just tried to hang on."
The only two who had understood what was happening was Mary and Cole. The twins had no clue what was going on.
"I understand. Ariana when things go wrong, they go wrong for a reason. And when they go wrong we just go on. I believe you have the strength of all people to go on."Lea smiled proudly at her best friend.
After the divorce was finalized by the courts,Ariana and her children left their home of California and traveled to Texas. She thought the father away from their past the better. It would give them all time to heal the wounds and hurt.
Riker finally got the help he needed and was now two and half years clean. Ariana had finally agreed to let the kids with him for the summer. Along those two and a half years Lea managed to get her on a date with Grant. After that date the two bonded quickly.
"You're not worried are you?" Grant asked after the kids left.
Ariana shrugged "I, I'm not sure."
He laid a hand gently upon her shoulder "It'll be okay, we both know the real him Ariana. We can trust him."he kissed her cheek which calmed her down.
In those two and a half years Ariana never believed she'd find a guy who made her as happy as Riker until she went on a date with Grant.
"I'm glad I have you Grant. I never thought I could be this happy again."She said and kissed his lips softly.
Lea had been right all along, when things go wrong we just go on. We never know what to expect but it'll turn out okay in the end.
"You make me feel like I'm 17 again and you're my first love."Grant said into her hair.
When Riker got to see his kids he had a small hope that Ariana would've came with them. No such luck on that and besides he heard that she's moved on already and to an old friend of theirs who was Grant Gustan. He had heard she was happy and content with him.
When Riker seen Mary he realized how she looked exactly like Ariana and his heart stopped and ached for the love of his life. He hadn't realized either how in love he was with Ariana until he let her go.
"How's your mother doing?" Riker asked on the drive to their old house
Cole answered before Mary could "Shes good, better actually. Mom is really happy." he said
That night after the kids went to bed was when Riker broke down crying. All the tears he hid away for two and a half years were finally coming out.
Mary heard cries echo though the silent house and seen her father sitting on the couch. He seemed broken like her mother use to look.
"Dad what's wrong?" She asked
"I miss your mother, I messed everything up."he sobbed to his daughter.
She comforted him as much as she could. And tries to reassure him that he'd be happy one day like her.
In Texas, Ariana was wide awake. She couldn't sleep that night for some reason. Maybe to much on her mind that's what she figured. Slipping out of bed she went out on the balcony and looked at that shinning stars. A while later the door opened and revealed a tired looking Grant.
"You okay?" he asked his voice a little rough sounding being as he woke up. The silence was enough to answer that she wasn't okay. "Come with me to Paris while I'm filming the movie. It'll be good for you." he said
From June to September Ariana found herself in Paris with Grant. He had been right while there she had been much happier. No stress or worries snuck up on her while there. However she found herself on one of their last nights there she found herself looking out at the stars. They looked amazing as they had when she first came to Paris.
"You have an addiction to the stars." Grant said joining her on the balcony and wrapping his arms securely around her waist from behind.
A smile tugged at her lips as she remembered hearing that line before.
"I love the stars they are very beautiful." Ariana smiled
Grant just smiled at his beautiful girlfriend. Taking a deep breath he prepared himself for what was coming next.
Getting down on one knee he said "Ariana I know you've been through so much,I know that I can fix you just enough. You make me happy and I promise to love you forever and always. Marry me?"
Tears fell down Ariana's face and she nodded "Of course." she smiled happily as he slipped the ring on her finger and picked her up kissing her.
"I love you."She whispered through her tears.
