The ambulance arrived quicker than expected and brought Ford and the kids to the hospital. The injury wasn't as bad as it looked.
The man snored quietly with Dipper, Mabel, Wally, and Soos by his side.
"Who could've done something like this?" Dipper wondered aloud.
"How would we know? Grunkle Ford makes sure to lock up every night when we go to bed." Mabel said.
"Yeah, the last time someone tried to break into the Museum he was already waiting for the guy, dude." Soos said.
"But...Grunkle Ford didn't go to bed. So..." Wally trailed off.
"...Someone could've snuck into the house and got the drop on Ford!" Dipper said, pounding his fist into his open palm.
"Right on target Dipper." Wally said.
"So what do we do?" Soos asked.
"We find whoever destroyed our statue, we find Grunkle Ford's assassin." Wally said.
__________So, Soos, Dipper, Mabel, and Wally drove back to the Museum in search of clues. The place was empty since Ford was in the hospital and Robbie wasn't running the register.
"Come on, there's bound to be a clue somewhere." Wally muttered.
"What should we be looking for dude?" Soos asked.
"Something out of the ordinary, strange, something we didn't notice before." Wally said, as he inspected the house.
Something shiny on the other hand, caught Dipper's eye. It was behind Ford's favorite chair.
"Would an axe be a clue?"
"Yes Dipper, an axe would be- wait what?" Wally asked.
Dipper proceeded to pick up the axe and brandished it to everyone.
"How did that get here?" Mabel questioned.
"It's possible the intruder dropped it when he left. Who do you think it belongs to?" Dipper asked.
"There's only one man in town uses an axe and I think I know just where to find him." Wally said.
"Will this call for fake IDs?" Dipper asked.
"Nope." Wally said.
Dipper's shoulders slumped sadly as Mabel patted his shoulder. "Maybe next time Bro-Bro."
_____________Soos's truck parked in front of the log cabin with a smoking chimney. "Are you guys sure this is the guy that would attack Ford?" He asked.
"Everyone's always innocent until proven guilty." Dipper said, as he held his finger up.
The triplets got out of the car and went up to the front door. Wally rang the doorbell and after the sound of heavy footsteps, the door opened.
"May I help you?" asked the rather large man.
"Are you... Manly Dan?" Wally asked with a gulp.
The man grunted in response.
"Well uh... there was an incident at the Mystery Museum that you might know about." Dipper said.
Dan raised an eyebrow as he tucked his hands into his pockets, "Yeah I've heard about it. My son got the day off." He said gruffly.
"Wait, did you say your son works at the Museum?" Mabel interjected.
"Well yeah, he's been working there for a while, I mean you are Robbie's friends right?" Dan asked.
"You're Robbie's dad?!" The triplets chorused.
