A/N: All righty guys, I know this is where I'm supposed to introduce Candy and Grenda, but sadly they don't exist.
But I do have their replacements! In this episode, I will introduce you all to Greyson and Charlie!
Anyway, enjoy this episode, I hope you like it!
___________"This is utterly ridiculous!"
Gideon rolled his eyes as he continued to trudge through the snow with Pacifica trailing after him.
"I can't believe I'm stuck walking in the woods with some snobby rich kid! My feet hurt, my hair's a mess, I can't take this!" Pacifica whined.
"Look," Gideon stopped dead in his tracks and whipped around to face Pacifica. "If you're going to be working with me, I need you to follow the three "Ups"; show up, keep up, and shut up!"
"How dare you-"
"What's the third Up?" Gideon asked.
Pacifica shut her mouth as the two continued walking.
But under Gideon's arm was...the second Journal.
___________"Ugghh...it's so boring..." Dipper groaned as he flopped back against the couch.
Wally, Mabel, Soos, and Ford all groaned in agreement
"Grunkle Ford, is there anything to do in this town to make today more fun?" Wally asked.
"Hm...actually there might be." Ford said. He got up with a grunt and trudged over to a nearby closet with everyone's eyes on him.
"I haven't been ice skating in years!" Ford declared as he pulled out a pair of ice skates.
"Ice skating?!" Dipper asked.
"Oh yeah dudes, since that incident with the Gobblewonker, the lake's been used for ice skating now." Soos said.
"So kids, ready to see how well I can tear up the ice?" Ford asked with a grin.
That's all it took for the kids to pile into the car and drive straight to the lake that was already filled with people.
As Dipper neared the lake, he could see some uneasiness in his sister's face. "Hey, what's up with you Mabel?"
"Huh? It's nothing." Mabel said.
"Come on Mabel, I can tell when something's up." Dipper said.
"I...can't skate." Mabel muttered.
"Seriously Mabel? I didn't think you would be able to on your first try!" Ford chuckled.
"Yeah! Even if we fall flat on our faces dude, we're bound to have fun doing it." Dipper added.
"You...think so?" Mabel asked, a small smile forming at her lips.
"We know so!" Chorused the group.
As they arrived at the lake, they could see tons of people from around town already on the ice.
"Well kids, this is what we came for, isn't it?" Ford asked.
"Yeah, let's go have some winter fun Dudes!" Soos said.
Ford watched as the kids slid on their skates and waddled over to the edge.
"All right dudes, my grandma taught me how to do this when I was a kid, now place one foot on the ice." Soos instructed.
The kids did what they were told, instantly feeling the slipperiness of the ice but they kept their balance.
"Now, use your other foot to push off, like so." Soos executed the technique perfectly, encouraging the kids to follow suit.
The triplets weren't ready for a floor without friction as they flailed their arms wildly and struggled to keep balance. Soos chuckled as he skated over to the kids and readjusted their posture.
"Just keep your cool dudes. Ice skating is only as hard as you make it." Soos said.
"Then how come ice skaters make it look easy?" Mabel asked.
Soos opened his mouth to say something but the put a finger on his chin, "That...is a good question."
"Well, we're not gonna do anything just standing here, let's go!" Wally said, pumping his fist into the air.
The triplets and Soos spent the next couple minutes falling, slipping, and laughing. That is until they finally learned how to skate.
Ford chuckled as he watched from a distance. The kids looked so happy. They needed some fun, especially because of what had happened in the past few days. But...he's been getting a strange feeling about Soos.
Over the last couple days, he's been spacing out during work and he's looked a little more forlorn than before.
Ford shook his head. 'Probably nothing...'
___________Dipper continued the pattern she learned from Soos, "Slide and pivot, slide and pivot..." He muttered.
He wasn't looking where he was going and bumped right into someone, knocking them over.
Dipper landed on his rear end and instantly looked up to see who he knocked over. It was a boy around the same age as his with brown hair and eyes. He wore a simple green t-shirt and jeans.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" Dipper asked.
"I'm fine, what about you?" Asked the boy.
"Greyson! Oh man, are you all right?" asked another boy as he skated up to them. He had black hair, brown eyes, glasses, a green sweater, and brown pants.
"I'm fine Charlie." Said the larger boy.
"I'm Dipper, hi! Do you wanna see my birthmark?" Dipper asked, as he pushed up his hair to show the birthmark on his forehead.
Both Greyson and Charlie "oohed" at the sight of it.
"That's so cool!" Greyson said.
"I know right!" Dipper said.
Wally watched as his brother started chatting it up with two other kids while Soos continued to teach Mabel.
"Why aren't you skating kiddo?" Ford asked, as he sat down next to his nephew.
"Huh? Oh, I'm just...thinking." Wally said.
"What are you thinking about?" Ford asked.
Wally sighed, "What would happen if we lost you that day? I mean, Dipper, Mabel, and I have no clue where are parents are and you're the only family that we have left. Even if we were put into the system, we'd probably be split up." He said.
"Hey." Ford said gently, as he placed his hand on his nephew's shoulder, "I'm not going anywhere. You kids mean more to me than anything in this world. Just like you said, I'm the only family you've got left." He said.
Wally threw his arms around his uncle who quickly returned the gesture. "Thanks Grunkle Ford." He said.
Ford tousled the boy's hair, "Anytime sport. Now, let's get out on the ice and have a good time." He said.
Wally watched as his uncle padded over to the ice and start skating. Unknown to him, his amulet flashed three times, almost like a signal.
But what kind of signal?.
