Old Flames

[ Chapter 2 ]

Waking up in my old room, the November sun peering in through the pink curtains. I stretched and got out of bed and went to the bathroom, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, deodorized, and brushed my hair. I walk downstairs and saw my mama cooking.

"Goodmorning baby." she said sweetly. I smiled, "Goodmorning." I sat at the dining room table as my mama placed my plate infront of me. I said a small prayer and began eating.

"So Liyah, what happened in to you yesterday, I didn't see much of you after you went upstairs and Jayceon followed." Lauren said as she descended the stairs. I looked up and my mama was looking at me, probably wondering the same thing.

"We talked, that's it. He left, but on a good note, we're supposed to hang out later to catch up with each other..as friends. I don't want nothing more with him. It's already too complicated to be around him." I told them.

"You're letting a good thing pass you by. Jayceon is your soul mate, I know you don't want to hear this, but it's true. Y'all were made for each other. I don't know if you notice, but when you were acting like you didn't want to talk to him, or you were pushing away from him, your eyes showed different. They were filled with love, vice versa. Jayceon loves you, he really does, wake up and see that. Yes that was messed up of what he did, but everybody makes mistakes and everybody learns from those mistakes and some of those people include Jayceon." Lauren lectured. In some if that she was right, Jayceon does love me and I'm still in love. I thought I was over him, but I'm not, lastnight a flood of emotions wiped over me when we had that heart to heart, but I can't stop thinking of the past, I still think a relationship with him is out of the question, I rather be friends.

"Can we drop it?" Lauren sighed and let the situation go and my mama wanted to say something, but decided against it. We had a quiet breakfast, nobody really said anything. Aftwr we finished we placed all the stuff in the dishwasher and I walked upstairs and grabbed my phone. I looked at it and I have an unknown number with a text.

Unknown- Goodmorning beautiful, I was wondering when you would like to have lunch.

I read the text, with a slight smile.

-Today at 3:00 , i replied.

I put my phone in my back pocket and grabbed my keys. I walked downstairs to see my mama talking on the phone and Lauren texting away on her phone.

"Hey you think we should just take a day from the studio and chill?" Lauren asked. I really wanted to go today, but I'm exhausted and I need sleep.

"Yeah, I need some sleep, here you drive." I handed Lauren my keys and we kissed my mama on the cheek before walking out.

"So you're having lunch with him?" Lauren asked as I explained to her about me and Jayceon. im actually kind of tired of him bring the topic of every conversation I have.

"We it's two o'clock. You should probably start getting ready." I groaned as I got up and walked upstairs. I stripped out of my clothes and walked into my bathroom and took a shower, wrapped a towel around my body, brushed my teeth, washed my face, deodorized. I walked into my room am picked out my purple laced bra an panty set. I then walked over to my closet and decided to wear a brown sweater with an off white scarf and some dark jeans with some ankle boots. I sprayed some perfume on and let my hair fall down my back. I didn't bother putting on makeup because I really didn't need it.

I checked my phone and it read 2:55. I also had a text from Jayceon saying he needs my address. I texted it to him and within five minutes he was here. I hugged Lauren bye and walked downstairs.

Jayceon opened the door of his 2013 all black Hummer for me, he helped me into the truck and made sure I was safely inside. He closed my door and jogged over to the other side and got in.

I had to admit, he was looking extremely fine today. He wore a long sleeved black shirt that hugged his muscles to the T, some dark jeans with his black and white Jordans.

"You lookin beautiful." he complimented me, I smiled and thanked him. The ride there was silent besides the soft music that played in the background from the radio. I silently sung some of the songs to myself. About twenty minutes later we arrived at one of the most amazing Italian restraunts ever. Mama's kitchen. It was the best soul food restraunt in this part of town. I used to always come here with Jayceon and order my favorite rib plate.

"I love this place." I squealed as he parked. He chuckled and got out of the car and opened my door. I thanked him and followed him inside.

"Look at y'all, all grown up." the owner of the restraunt spoke. We both smiled as Mama D greeted us.

"Still the cutest couple." Sge said with a smile, that comment had me squirming to get away. My smile faded and I felt uncomfortable.

"Well have a nice day and I'll get you your usuals." Mama D said, I smiled as I watched the short brownskinned, grey haired woman walk away. I followed Jayceon to our table in the back. He pulled my chair out for me and I thanked him.

"This place hasn't changed at all." Jayceon admired his all time favorite restraunt. I smiled as I did the same, it brought back old memories.

"This is where I first met you." he said breaking her flashback. She smiled as she remembered.

"I remember that, you were such a sweetheart then." I smiled as I messed with his cheeks. He laughed and pushed my hands away. I laughed and the nurse walked up and I couldn't believe whom I saw. Her once long flowing hair was cut into a bob, her dark brown eyes narrowing as she stared at me, her once small petite body was now thick in all the right places, she looked pretty, but the bitch is still on my hitlist.

"Can I get y'all anything?" Amber asked, never taking her eyes from me. I slightly rolled my eyes as I looked over at Jayceon, he looked like he saw a ghost.

"Can I get a water?" I placed my order, "Um I'll have a coke." Jayceon said. Amber wrote something on the pad, she walked away mumbling under her breath. I had to calm myself down from beating her ass, I honestly wanted to tear into that bitch!

"You good?" Jayceon asked as a worried look sketched across his face. I nodded my head. He eyed me down as if he was looking through my soul. I was squirming in my seat under his intense gaze.

"Here are your drinks and your food." Amber said as she handed us our drinks and food. After handing us our items, she just stood there. I looked at her and arched an eyebrow.

"What Amber?" Jayceon asked annoyance clear in his voice. She didn't say anything, she just shook her head as she eyed me down as if she was disgusted.

"Amber, I'm trying to keep cool, but the longer you stand there, the more my anger builds up and at this point, I can't hold my tongue not my fist from tearing into to face!" I said viciously.

"LiLi, chill." Jayceon said touching my hand like old times when he tried to calm me down.

"Really Jayceon? Is she the reason you didn't want me anymore? Because you love her? Nigga, I was there for you, I had your back when she left yo ass-"

"You're the reason she left." he said intensely. He looked at her with disgust deep in his eyes. Amber rolled her eyes, "whatever. Enjoy your food." she said and walked off. I looked down at me and Jayceon's hand as his rested ontop of mine softly stroking it with his thumb. I'm not gone lie and say I didn't feel the electricity trail my skin as he did it.

"Sorry about that." he apologized as he looked up in my eyes. I smiled snd shook my head telling him it was ok. He nodded and we dug into our food. Iwas enjoying my rib plate I was moaning after every bite I took as Jayceon laughed at my reactions.

"I had a good time." I told him as he walked me to my door. He smiled, "I'm just trying to show you how sorry I am." he told me.

"Well thanks, goodnight." I leaned in and hugged him before walking into my house. I walked upstairs and stripped and took a shower. I wrapped my hair and put on a green t-shirt with some white night boxers and went to bed.
