Chapter 35

Laying in the hospital bed in pain from the contractions, Amanda yelled another ear piercing scream. Jayceon sighed as he stood up to hold her hand. Amanda's father Jo, looked at jayceon with a sour expression.

He heard about how the young man disrespected his daughter by kicking her out, at first when they met, he thought jayceon was the perfect man for her. But looking at him now, he sees otherwise.

"Some nerve." Jo said shaking his head.

"Look man, this ain't the time for any unnecessary beef you got with me." Jayceon said sternly. He's been irritated since he's been here, Amanda's family can't stand the fact that jayceon is happy with aaliyah and they've been constantly nagging him about it.

"Watch Ya tone boy!" Jo stated sternly. Jayceon sighed, "I'll be back in here in a minute." He said releasing Amanda's hand.

He walked out of the room and into the waiting room where he saw aaliyah distancing herself away from everybody.

Jayceon looked at Amanda's sister to see her mugging him. He returned the mug and continued his route to his fiancé.

"What's wrong?" He asked as he stepped infront of her.

"These people. They better find some fuckin chill because I'm not afraid to whoop nobody-"

"Baby calm down. Don't worry bout them, they just mad along with Amanda's crazy ass." Jayceon said with a smirk. Aaliyah rolled her eyes as a grin appeared on her face.

"I love you, and as soon as the baby gets here and we run test we can leave." Aaliyah nodded her head. Jayceon pecked her lips before going back inside the room.

"You done being a bitch?" Jo asked as soon as Jayceon returned. Jayceon bit his tongue from saying anything back. He didn't feel like arguing, he was just waiting for the baby to be delivered.

He looked at the monitor to see the baby was healthy. He could say he was a little happy, but not so much as he was with JJ.

"Okay Amanda, let's see how you're doing." The doctor said as they came over to examine a drugged Amanda. Jayceon was glad the drugs kicked in because she was starting to get on his nerves with all that damn screaming and yelling.

"Well, a few more centimeters and we'll be ready to deliver." The doctor said before walking out. Jayceon sighed as he stood next to the wall.

Meanwhile aaliyah was outside with Amanda's family. She was getting annoyed with the glares from the women. She wanted to say something, but decided that biting her tongue was probably the best thing to do in this situation.

"Why does she even have to be here? She obviously doesn't like Amanda so why be here?" She heard one of Amanda's sisters mumble. Aaliyah was trying to restrain herself, but she was tired of being disrespected.

"Sweetie if you want to know anything about me, address me. Don't mumble under Ya breath, or give me sideways glances. Yes I'm not too fond of Amanda, but I'm here to support my fiancé, if there is a problem with that, kiss my ass. My black ass gone stand in this damn waiting room until he is ready to go. Now shut the hell up." She said sternly.

Amanda's family stared at her in shock. Her sister sucked her teeth, but she did not once open her mouth to speak. Aaliyah returned to her spot on the wall, waiting patiently for Jayceon.

An hour later, Amanda was ready to push.

Jayceon was told to put on scrubs to help deliver. He was nervous, excited, and stressed all at once. The moment he has been waiting on all night.

"Alright push!" The doctor instructed. Amanda did as told and gave it her all. She didn't feel as much pain considering she was doped up, but the little that she did feel hurt like hell.

"Okay breathe." The doctor instated. They did this a few more times, before a healthy baby girl was laying in Amanda's arms.

Jayceon looked at the baby and gave a small smile. It was no way you could possibly tell if the baby looked like him yet, but he had a small amount of doubt.

"You wanna hold her?" Amanda asked. Jayceon shook his head. He doesn't want to get too attached and find out it's not his. That would break his heart.

Amanda nodded as she cradled her baby in arms.

"She's beautiful." Jo said looking at his granddaughter. He smiled, Jayceon had to admit she was a beautiful baby, but he just couldn't bring himself to be happy until he knew the results.

"Sorry I'm late." A man said as he walked in. Jayceon looked at him as if he was crazy. Amanda eyes bucked as well. She didn't think Ray would show up after he basically blew her off.

"Oh uh Jayceon this is Ray the other man being tested." Amanda explained. Ray and Jayceon shook hands. Ray looked over at the sleeping baby in Amanda's arms and smiled.

"She beautiful." Ray commented. Jayceon stood there watching the encounter. He didn't want to say too much nor did he want to set something off with something he said.

"Would you still like to test?" The nurse came in asking. Amanda looked at us and then back at the nurse and nodded her head yes. The nurse smiled before swabbing the baby, then Ray and then me.

"I'll be right back."

"Can you tell the others they can come in now?" Amanda asked. Jayceon nodded before walking out.

"Yall can go in now."che said exhausted. He walked over to aaliyah and saw that she still had an irritated look on her face. He even saw that she's been crying.

"Baby?" He said touching her.

"Jayce if the baby is yours then what?" He didn't understand why she was asking him this when she already knew the answer. Then it dawned on him that they've been feeding bullshit into her ears.

"Liyah, you know damn well I'm not leaving you for her whether that little girl is mine or not. You're the one I love not her, now I don't know what those women been telling you, but let's get this straight. I love you, good, bad, thick, thin, flaws and all. I'm not going anywhere." He told her as he cupped her face.

Her crying stopped and she just stared. jayceon leaned in and planted a sweet kiss on her lips.

"Now after the results come back, I'll be ready to go."

Aaliyah nodded. "Well I'm going to go get me something to snack on, I'll be back." She said before pecking his cheek and walking away. Jayceon walked back to the room.

The second he walked in everyone turned to look at him. He ignored the flares and went back to his spot on the wall.

About thirty minutes later, the nurse and doctor walked back in.

"Can everyone please excuse us for a moment." She asked kindly. Everyone left except Jayceon, Ray, and Amanda.

"Okay the results are back." The doctor said holding up the papers. Jayceon sighed, the moment he's been waiting for, the moment where everything falls into place. The moment when he finds out if baby Anya Nicole is his or not.

As the doctor started to read the results, Amanda fainted causing the doctors to go into panic mode. They rushed the baby out along with Jayceon and Ray.

Jayceon sighed, this night is just hectic and he just wants to get home. He stood on the wall outside of the room confused as to what happened and why.

He sighed and walked into the waiting room to see Ray talking to the family about what happened. Jayceon just walked over to a chair and sat down. Aaliyah saw how stressed he looked and decided to go comfort him.

She wrapped her arms around him and said a silent prayer over him, and one for Amanda.

This was going to be a long night.
