Old Flames

Chapter 26

Aaliyah woke up to the whimpers of JJ through the baby monitor. She got out of bed and walked to the nursery, she walked over to the crib and picked the crying baby up. The minute he was in her arms he stopped crying and stared up at her and gave her a small smile.

Aaliyah smiled as she shook her head at her little spoiled baby. She rocked him as she walked downstairs to make him a bottle and her some breakfast. She sat JJ in his bouncer and gave him a little toy to play with while she made him a bottle. Once she finished making the bottle, she walked into the family room where JJ was and fed him.

She layed back upon the couch and hummed a song and fed her little chubby man. A few minutes later, Jayceon walked through the front do exhausted. He had a meeting today with his lawyer and he also had to take Amanda to her appointment.

Aaliyah gave him a small smile, he walked over to her and kissed her and JJ. He sat next to Aaliyah and sighed. "I'm so sleepy." He said groggily. Aaliyah giggled before taking JJ and placing him back in his bouncer and turning it on low and turning on the soft music and giving him a little toy.

Jayceon watched as she handled him with so much care. He smiled, at this moment it finally sunk into his head that he has a family.

Aaliyah sat back and Jayceon wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him.

"I love you." He whispered into her ear as he watched his baby boy in the bouncer. Aaliyah smiled, "I love you too." She whispered back. Jayceon pecked her forehead.

Jayceon layed his head back as he thought about everything. He thought about his life without Aaliyah, he thought about when he got her back he thought about when he cheated, he thought about Amanda, he thought about Amanda being pregnant. He sighed. Aaliyah looked up and could see him worrying. She hated when he got like this, "Jayce stop." She told him. He looked at her and saw the concern in her eyes. He didn't want her to worry about him. So he put a smile on his face.

"Whatever you're going through, you're not going through it alone. I'm always here Jayce. I'm not going anywhere. I love you." Jayceon smiled, he was glad he had someone like her in his life. She was his backbone his life line. She even gave him something that will be his forever. He stared down at his son who was sleeping.

"I'm sorry baby. I just feel like I messed up." Aaliyah could understand why, but everyone makes mistakes, "Jayce I'm not going to tell you again. When I got back with you it's because I realized we all make mistakes. And I'm with you because I love you, and I told you I would be here no matter what. Have I lied? No, I'm still here Jayce. I'm not going anywhere." Jayceon nodded, Aaliyah placed a kiss upon Jayceon's cheek.

Jayceon smiled as he pulled her down to him and layed back. The two of them layed back and just sat in the silence until they too fell asleep.

After a short nap, Aaliyah was awoken by JJ's cries and a knock on the door. She rocked her crying son in her arms as she walked to the door. She looked out the small window and saw Amanda. She sighed, but opened the door as she still tried to calm JJ down.

Amanda looked at Aaliyah and the small bundle of joy in her arms. Her hands immediately found her baby bump and rubbed it as she smiled.

"Yes?" Aaliyah asked calmly. Amanda smiled, "Is jayceon here? I have something important to tell him." Aaliyah turned around and saw Jayceon sleeping. Amanda glanced at him and nodded her head. She started to leave, but Aaliyah stopped her. She figured Amanda and her son will also be apart if her life, so why not squash all the drama and act as adults.

"Amanda you know, you can always talk to me too. I know you're going to always be here too, you're having his child and I don't want there to be any drama or beef between us." Amanda was surprised. She smiled, "Thank you." She cried her emotions getting the best if her. Aaliyah laughed as she continued rocking JJ in her arms until he fell silent and his breathing labored out.

"He's so cute." Amanda said as she looked at the small baby. Aaliyah looked down at her son and smiled. He looked just like Jayceon.

"Thank you, he's the spitting image of that big doof over there." Aaliyah joked, Amanda laughed. Aaliyah led her to the den where they sat and talked for hours.

Jayceon woke up and walked into the den to see Amanda and Aaliyah talking and drinking tea.

He was confused and just walked away before they could notice he was there. He walked upstairs and got into the shower and walked back downstairs to see Amanda watching t.v while Aaliyah tended to JJ.

"Hey sleepy." Amanda said causing Aaliyah to look back at him. He smiled, abd walked over and kissed Aaliyah's cheek and picked up a whining JJ. The moment he was in his father's arms he stopped crying. Amanda and Aaliyah watched the way he interacted with JJ. The two smiled, Aaliyah always knew he'd be a great father. Amanda just hoped that he could be a great father to her child.

"Jayceon can I talk to you?" Amanda asked. Aaliyah looked at Jayceon and nodded, Jayceon turned to Amanda and led her to the den.

He sat down and fed the baby as Amanda fidgeted with her hands.

"I just want to say I'm sorry for everything I put you through. I'm sorry for causing drama in your life, I'm sorry for expecting you to be mine when you're already spoken for. I just ask of you to just please be there for your child, I can't do this alone. Aaliyah already told me that she accepts me and the child whether it's yours or not. I just need the same support from you. I can't do this alone." Jayceon nodded his head. He wiped a tear from Amanda's eyes and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I promise." He said with a smile. Amanda smiled and Jayceon pecked the top of her head before escorting her back into the family room leaving her and Aaliyah to talk while he carried JJ up to the nursery.

Twenty minutes later Aaliyah walked into the nursery and kissed Jayceon. "I'm so proud of you." She said.

He smiled at her, "I'm proud of you, no matter how much you didn't like her you out your differences aside and worked it out." Aaliyah smiled. Jayceon pecked her lips and smiled. For the rest of the night they stayed in the nursery talking about the future and everything in it.
