Old Flames

[ Chapter 11 ]

Walking into the dance studio for the first time in two months Aaliyah sat in the front observing the young kids as they worked on a routine. As she watched the young boys and girls dance, she couldn't help but wonder about the unborn baby inside of her.

"Ms. Aaliyah, did you like it?" one of the little girls in the class named Natalie asked, breaking Aaliyah from her thoughts adage gave the child her full attention.

"Huh..what..yeah, y'all did amazing." She smiled. Natalie hugged her and skipped back over to the group of kids. Aaliyah rubbed her stomach and smiled.

"Okay I think your parents are down in the lobby waiting for you. Let's go." Lauren said leading the kids downstairs. Aaliyah stood and followed them, "Ms. Aaliyah how come you don't teach us dances anymore?" a girl named, Ashley asked. Aaliyah looked at her and all the other awaiting faces. She knew she couldn't lie to thrm, they're like her own kids, "I'm pregnant."

"What's pregnant?" one of the little girls asked. Aaliyah smiled lightly, "There's a baby growing inside of me." Aaliyah pointed towards her stomach where the children now noticed the small bump growing.

"Is it a boy or girl?" Natalie asked. Aaliyah shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know yet, I have to wait two more months to find out."Natalie nodded her head as she rubbed Aaliyah's growing stomach. Aaliyah smiled, "Your mom's waiting." she grabbed Natalie's hand before walking downstairs which was a bad idea because her feet started hurting, but she made it down. After the children left, the girls closed the studio and went out to relax. Lauren drove them over to Mama's Kitchen. Aaliyah smiled, she could already taste the ribs and chicken in her mouth.

"You seem so happy!" Lauren cheered as she eyed her cousin down. She noticed that since Aaliyah and Jayceon been together Aaliyah smiles a lot more, she's more open to things, she's just happy!

"I am happy! I'm ecstatic." she smiled. Lauren smiled at her cousin, but that soon faded when she saw Amber walking to their table. She didn't want any drama.

"Hey I'm Amber and I'll be your waitress for today." she smiled. Lauren looked from Aaliyah to Amber trying to see what would happen, but things were actually civil.

"Can I have the soul plate and a water with lemon?" Aaliyah asked. Amber nodded as smiled and wrote it down. Looking at Lauren whom was lost for words as she held a blank stare.

"Lauren what do you want?" Aaliyah asked snapping Lauren out of her daze. Lauren ordered the same as Aaliyah except she ordered a Dr. Pepper. When Amber left Lauren questioned Aaliyah on why she didn't beat Amber the minute she saw her like she planned back in the day.

"What is it supposed to help? Fighting her isn't going to erase what they did, besides I don't need the stress. I have Jayceon now and I'm more than happy. I see she's also happy with her life and I don't want to ruin that by giving we these hands." Aaliyah laughed.

Lauren shook her head as she laughed at her cousin. They had small talk until their food arrived.

Amber set their food on the table and looked at Aaliyah. "Hey I just wanted to apologize about what happened back in high school. I shouldn't have did that to you, that was wrong of me. But congrats on the little one. I wish you joy and happiness in your life. Oh and Merry Christmas." she said with a genuine smile before she left. Aaliyah smiled, she was going to leave a big tip for that one.

"That was nice of her." Lauren said as she dug into her plate. Aaliyah smiled, "Yeah, I think that was very sweet of her." Aaliyah agreed. The two girls finished up their lunch and left a hundred dollar tip for her before leaving.

Lauren drove Aaliyah over to Jayceon's so they could spend some time together. When Aaliyah walked in, Jayceon was laying on the couch sleeping with his shirt off. Aaliyah smiled as she placed her key in her purse. She sat her purse on the coffee table before she walked over and straddled Jayceon's waist.

She leaned down and kissed his cheek, and then his neck, back to his other cheek before kissing his lips. Jayceon grabbed her waist and deepened the kiss, earning a moan from Aaliyah.

"You should wake me up like that more often." Jayceon suggested when they broke apart from each other. Aaliyah smiled, "Maybe, I might spice it up a bit." she winked. It took everything in Jayceon not to attack her and make sweet love with her.

"Guess who I seen today!" Aaliyah smiled.

"Beyonce? Lil'Wayne? Nicki Minaj?" Aaliyah looked at Jayceon like he was crazy. "No, Amber. She apologized to me about...you know. And she said she wishes the best for us. " Aaliyah announced.

"Well that's nice. Do you think y'all could ever be cool again?" Jayceon asked. And honestly Aaliyah hasn't thought about that at all. She knows that she wouldn't be able to trust her around Jayceon. That's a tough decision, but if they started hanging out more they could probably rekindle their relationship.

"Maybe." Aaliyah answered. Jayceon nodded his head as he stared at his gorgeous girlfriend. He realized how happy he was to have her. He's happy that she forgave him and he's happy that she's having his first child. He really loves Aaliyah with all his heart, he wants to marry her, but it's too soon right now. But they will get married at the right time.

Jayceon layed down and motioned Aaliyah to lay down next to him. She did just that and Jayceon wrapped his arms around her.

"You know I love you right?" he asked in her ear. Aaliyah nodded her head, "I love you too."

Jayceon smiled and kissed the back of her head, before they layed there wrapped in each other's arms in the quiet house, before falling asleep.
