Old Flames

[ Chapter 13 ]

Aaliyah sat back stage waiting to be interviewed by Wendy. She made sure her hair was in the right place, made sure her makeup was right, she smoothed down the red mid-thigh dress that she wore with her red wedges.

"Can you make your way to the right." one of stage managers asked. Aaliyah stood from her seat with a little help from one of the makeup artist, she walked to stage right just as Wendy called her name. Aaliyah walked out all smiles.

"Look at you!" Wendy said as Aaliyah sat down in a seat next to Jayceon. Aaliyah smiled, "Girl you are gorgeous, good job Richards." Wendy joked. Jayceon looked at Aaliyah and smiled.

"So let's cut to it, what's going on? You have been all over the news, not only as Jayceon the rookie, but baby daddy, and boyfriend of Ms. Aaliyah here." Wendy comments. Jayceon rubbed his forehead with a slight chuckle.

"Well Aaliyah is my high school sweetheart, but I made a mistake that caused us to part ways, until a couple months ago. I moved back to Miami to play basketball, and um I saw her. I knew it was fate, I been praying to see her ever since she broke up with me. At first she hated me, wouldn't give me the time of day, but somehow I convinced her and we got well acquainted with one another, and now we're in this situation." Jayceon explained. Wendy smiled, "High school sweethearts huh? That's cute. Your whole relationship is cute." She complimented.

"Thank you." both Aaliyah and Jayceon said. Wendy turned her attention to Aaliyah, "Aaliyah how does it feel to have all this attention from Jayceon's fans and some of your new fans?" Aaliyah honestly didn't know she had fans, but she knew that she was getting a lot of attention on social networks.

"It's a little overwhelming, but that's something that comes with being with an all-star." She replied with a light laugh.

"Yes and I see there's a little all star in the oven.." Wendy winked. Jayceon and Aaliyah chuckled, "Yep that's my little boy." Jayceon said rubbing Aaliyah's stomach.

"That's cute, how do you feel about becoming parents?"

"Um I was a little overwhelmed when I first found out. It was weird..at the time being as I found out. I didn't tell Jayceon until one or two weeks after I found out, which he seemed happy to have me carrying his child." Aaliyah said. Wendy smiled, "You two are a cute couple, wedding bells?" Jayceon and Aaliyah looked at each other, Aaliyah knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jayceon. She knew that he was the love of her life. Through good and bad Jayceon has always been there for her, even after the whole cheating thing, he tried to keep in touch with her. Jayceon eyes stared back into Aaliyah's almond brown eyes, a smile upon his face, his heart beating rapidly, he knew Aaliyah was the girl that he would spend the rest of his life with. He knew that back in high school, he had plans for them, their future was already mapped out.

"Of course, in the future. I would love to marry this woman. She means everything to me." Jayceon answered. The crowd cooed as did Wendy and Aaliyah.

"And this man, is the love of my life. I'd do anything for him." Aaliyah replied. Jayceon smiled before leaning over once again and pressing his lips to Aaliyah's once more.

"Well congrats to you too. Y'all are both amazing people, and a beautiful, talented couple. I see a very bright future ahead for you two." Wendy said. Aaliyah and Jayceon thanked her.

"It was nice having you on the show." Wendy responded with a smile.

Hours after the interview, Jayceon was at his brothers house discussing and planning a very sacred thing.

"I'm ready to pop the question. I've been ready ever since I saw her at the club a few months ago." Jayceon admitted. He was ready to marry Aaliyah. He loved this girl, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
