Old Flames

[ Chapter 23 ]

Aaliyah decided to go to her mother's house for a little visit. She packed up everything she needed for JJ and carried him out and strapped him in his car seat.

She got into the car and started the twenty minute drive to her mom's house.

When she got there her sister-in-law Erika was there with her nephew AJ.

"Hey gorgeous. .You look good." Erika said as Aaliyah walked through the door. It wS true, Aaliyah looked great, she still had a little weight from the pregnancy, but it looks good on her.

"Thank you beautiful." Aaliyah said as she sat in the recliner. She picked JJ up out of his car seat because he's getting a little fussy.

"Awww." Erika said as she looked at her nephew. She walked over and caught a better glimpse of him as Aaliyah tried to rock him to sleep.

AJ walked up and touched the baby. "Look AJ it's your new baby cousin JJ." Erika said. AJ clapped his hands. For a one year old baby he was really smart.

"He look just like Jayceon." Erika said as she touched his little cheek. Aaliyah laughed because it was most definitely true.

"Do I hear my babies in here?" Nancy said as she came from the back. She walked over and hugged Aaliyah and took a sleeping JJ out of her hands.

"How you doin?" Nancy asked as she sat down. Aaliyah sighed. She's been trying to be calm for Jayceon, but on the inside this is tearing her up. For her to think about Jayceon having another child is crazy.

"Jayce got Amanda pregnant." Erika shook her head as did Nancy.

"You okay?" Nancy asked her daughter. Aaliyah sighed, "I'm trying to stay calm about the whole situation, I'm tired of giving this woman a rise out of me. I mean if she is having his baby, that's just something I will have to deal with, but I'm not going anywhere. I refuse to let her take the love of my life away from. Jayce messed up, but don't we all? He's humsn and he made a mistake now he has to deal with it, but he won't be alone."

"That's right baby!" Erika said as she gave Aaliyah a high five, Nancy smiled as she saw that territorial look in her daughter's eye. Aaliyah smirked as she looked down at her ringing phone. It was Lauren.

"Where you at?" She asked when aaliyah answered. "Mama's where you at?"

"On my way over there." She said before hanging up. Aaliyah placed the phone back in her pocket before she layed back upon the couch.

A few minutes later Lauren showed up. As soon as she came in, she went straight for JJ, "Hey handsome." She said as she took the whining baby out of Nancy's hands.

"Hey to you too L." Aaliyah said. Lauren laughed before she walked over and hugged her and Erika.

"Hey Aunt Nancy." She said as she hugged Nancy too.

"Hey baby, how you doing?" Nancy asked, "I'm good. Very good." Lauren smiled. Aaliyah knew what that smile meant, Aaliyah shook her head, "Be careful."

"I know, Im not like you." Lauren replied as she stuck her tongue out, Aaliyah stuck hers out too as she laughed.

"Anyway, I heard about Ms. Amanda and the baby...what's up?" Lauren asked.

Aaliyah sighed before explaining the story to Lauren.

"I should have beat that bitch ass when I had the chance." Lauren said as she walked around and handed the baby back to Aaliyah. Aaliyah shook her head, "I'm not worried about her. She's no competition for me."

"Look, this woman is the devil in disguise trying to tear you and Jayceon up. Be stronger and focus. Don't let some slut ruin something good. Be classy, be smart. You have a child now, none of that childishness, it's time to grow up. Every situation doesn't need a reaction. Sometimes you just have to accept it, smile at it and keep it moving." Nancy advised. Aaliyah listened closely to her mother's advice and let it sink in.

Meanwhile Jayceon was over his mother's house getting advice as well.

"You made your bed now you have to lay in it. Just be lucky Aaliyah is being understanding. Jayceon knew his mom was right.

"I know, I wish I could go back and change everything. Aaliyah is the only girl I love. I realized that a long time ago. Amanda was a mistake, that shouldn't have happened." Jayceon said as he sat his chin upon his folded hands.

Donna could see the stress surrounding her son. He has a new born, a woman claiming she's pregnant by Jayceon, "Son, I will be here for you every step of the way. You're mf baby boy, I love you, and you can always come to me in your time of need. Always." Donna told him.

Jayceon nodded his head. He hugged his mama and prepared to leave.

"Bring my grandbaby by to see me." She told him as he walked out the door, "Ok ma."

Jayceon got in his car and drove home. When he got there, Aaliyah wasn't there. He wanted to be in the comfort of his wife, but he knew she wanted to get out and see her friends so he wasn't worried. He went upstairs to take a shower.

After he showered he got dressed in some basketball shorts and elite socks. He walked downstairs and layed on the couch watching tv.

A few minutes later, Aaliyah walked through the door.

"Hey baby." She said as she sat the car seat down by the couch he was laying on, and kissed him.

"Hey baby, wassup lil man?" he asked as he in strapped JJ and picked him up.

The baby grunted and squirmed in his arms. Jayceon smirked at the creation he made.

"How was your day?" Aaliyah asked him. He shrugged, "It was good. Yours?"

"Good, besides mama trying to kidnap my baby." She said as she handed Jayceon the baby bottle. He chuckled as he fed JJ the bottle.

"I also talked to her about this Amanda situation." She said as she sat beside him. Jayceon sighed, he was tired of talking about it.

"Can we not talk about it? I'm really tired of hearing about this woman." Jayceon said. Aaliyah threw her hands up in surrender. She dropped the subject and layed her head on his shoulder.

"I love you. I don't want to lose you." Aaliyah admitted. Jayceon looked at her and kissed the top of her head, "I'm not going anywhere, I promise you that."

Aaliyah just hopes he can keep his promise, because obsticles are soon to be thrown their way.
