Kate’s presence appeared once again, a new facial expression covered her face, confusion, contentment and cheerfulness. She looked around the room Milly and Amy were staring at her and beaming with pleasure from the event they had just experienced, blood rushed to the surface of her cheeks in embarrassment, “What just happened?” Kate thought to herself. She turned her head to the window to check how long she had been daydreaming. The sky was now a clear navy blue colour with small stars brightly shining in an uneven formation across its expanse. Dark. She then shot her glance to the small china clock on the mantelpiece of a small fireplace, where the fire was no longer ablaze, it was 10pm. “Have I really been out for an hour and a half?” she thought.

“Are you alright Kate, you have gone very pasty?” Amy enquired in concern, shooting a worried glance at Milly. Milly and Amy took Kate by the elbows and carefully manoeuvred her to the small burgundy coloured armchair that stood in the corner of the cramped room, sitting her down. “Kate?” A large tear rolled down Amy’s pale face as horrible thoughts shot through her mind, she fell to her knees, placing her forehead on her trembling legs.

“I’m…fine...” Kate stuttered forcing the words out slowly, one by one. She placed her hand on Amy’s back reassuring her of her worry that Amy was now feeling. Amy lifted her head up in shock meeting Kate’s gaze watching a large grin spread across her face. Had she worried for nothing? “I’m just surprised at how brilliantly mine and Nathan’s relationship is going and how much we have done in this small amount of time!” Kate exclamation in a surprised tone as she said this mirroring her facial expressions. Confusion spread across Milly and Amy’s faces, what was she talking about? We had already covered this. Kate noticed this change of expression and informed them of the astonishing flashbacks she had just experienced.

“Wow! That explains why you woke up bewildered and fearful, not knowing what happened and what time it was.” Replied Milly, amazed at the vivid memories that Kate had seen. “I really want to experience this now to actually feel the emotions involved!” Milly began to imagine just how astonishing this feeling may be.

“Yeah, me too!” Amy responded in agreement. The time was passing quickly as this discussion continued into the very early hours of the morning. The dark black sky was beginning to change to navy blue once again; the moon was the brightest it had been all night as it reflected off the bright white snow now twice its thickness. One by one the stars began to deteriorate before their very eyes illustrating the very beginning of dawn. The soft sounds of people talking slowly quietened until the small cottage was silent once more.
