For the first time since they had met at the meet and greet Amy locked eyes with Jay’s glistening sky blue eyes. This surprised Jay considering her background meant her self-confidence was the lowest it had ever been and you hardly ever saw her looking anyone in the eyes even Jay, her closest friend. This moment he would cherish forever, he didn’t want it to end and little did he know he might not have to. He didn’t want to have to forget about liking Amy more than a friend because he had liked her for a very long time and to just forget about it would be a very hard process. However in the next second all came clear about the relationship they had between them. Amy still had her eyes locked to Jay’s and then without notice she began to close the distance between herself and Jay. Jay couldn’t believe what was happening, he stayed in the same position, rigid just to make sure she was doing what he thought she was doing. Then he was sure. Amy had closed the distance so much that she had reached his lips. Jay didn’t pull away but followed her rhythm, passionately the same thought rolling around in his mind, “She likes me too!” The hunger for each other was so strong and powerful just in this one kiss. They had both been waiting for this moment for a long time and no matter how much Amy had been threatened and abused the idea of being with Jay in his loving and protective arms was always at the forefront of her mind. Nevertheless she had always expected it to remain a dream, a beautiful dream, and a dream that would never come true no matter how much she tried. Amy pressed lightly against Jay’s lips gradually getting harder and harder, until it felt they like that had done this many times before, improvising as they went along. The chemistry between the couple was radiating off them creating an indestructible force field around them, too powerful to break. Nevertheless all amazing moments had to come to an end eventually and this kiss ended for the benefit of Amy’s health. Even though Jay wanted to live in this moment forever he thought that it would be better for Amy to continue this when Amy had reached full health and decided that she should be resting. He helped her into her relatively comfy bed, taking care with her fragile body that had been battered and bruised over and over again and lay down next to her keeping his arm around her the whole time. Amy rested her head on his chest, snuggling up close to him, wanting to remain in his arms endlessly, where she felt safe and all her worries seemed to drift away into the atmosphere. But before she knew it fatigue began to take hold of her body and gradually fell into a deep slumber. Dreaming happy thoughts, something that seemed a stranger to her. This seemed to be the first night for a seriously long time that she had a worriless sleep without any reoccurring nightmares dominating it. The first time she had had a steady, calm sleeping pattern. No sudden awakenings.

Jay remained like a human statue watching as she slept soundlessly, motionlessly, happy that he had finally enabled her to capture a good, full night’s sleep, something she had been prevented for so long. He caressed her soft cheeks, brushing his fingers carefully through her long brunette hair and placing it behind her ear, making sure he didn’t wake her. He then heard the doorknob turn slowly and Nathan, Tom, Max, Siva, Milly and Kate filed in without a sound into the hushed room. They were surprised to find the atmosphere had changed dramatically, all the tension had lifted and a more relaxed feeling have enveloped the small room. As they all took in the change of scene and the fact Amy had finally opened up and allowed someone to touch her again they all made a huge sigh of relief in unison causing them to break into silent laughter as they realised they were all thinking the same thing. Jay was struggling to keep in the laughter, he really didn’t want to wake Amy up but he couldn’t help but find what just happened amusing. The vibration of his chest as he chuckled caused Amy to stir but seemed to be so deep in the wonderful world of dreamland that she soon feel silent once more. Max caught Jay’s eye and they exchanged a grin. Max couldn’t be happier for Jay. Jay had been waiting for so long for something to happen between them and he couldn’t ever pluck up the courage to enlighten her of his feelings and finally with some help from a friend he had finally confronted his fears and it had paid off. Jay mimed the words, “She kissed me!” to him and watched as Max’s eyes grew wider as he took in this amazing change of situation.

Well it was safe to say he wasn’t expecting that, a nod of consideration, a reply saying she would think about it, yes, but a kiss, no. Wow! This was big. He walked over to his side and gave him a friendly pat on the back before whispering “Good on you mate!”
